I was about to start working on a tutorial when I realized I never actually uploaded this one.So yeah, basically it took me a while to figure out the networking thing in Open Canvas. But I wish I had figured it out sooner 'cause it friggin' rules my world now, or something.
Hopefully this will enlighten some people and change your lives as much as it has changed mine 8DLinks:

Well I hope you can see how saying "No, it's actually a ____ tablet" would be 100% more polite than "why do you assume it's a wacom. There are other brands", which effectively translates to "what are you, completely ignorant?". Of course I know there are other tablets; obviously I was just making the wrong assumption. And it should be clear why, after all wacom is the most popular and functional tablet on the market. So what tablet are you using?

well I just dont use wacom cause its over priced, Im not gonna pay $100 or $200+ for a tablet thats only 4x6
mine was only $57 and its 8x6.
my tablet is a genius and Im getting people who are telling me that I "need" a wacom for oC to work properly with a tablet. I dont see any reason why it wouldnt work with mine tho, its just a regular tablet.

well not all manufacturers produce compatible drivers for all the software that you might use, so if that is the case, then you would need a tablet that is made to support OC in order to use it. Wacoms are pretty expensive, but at the same time, you get what you pay for. Not that you'd need a wacom, per say, but maybe some other brand at least. You can try looking around google for other genius tablet users that may have a similar problem.. I just took a quick look and it seems like there are a lot of people who can't use pressure in OC. You can check your manufacturer's support site for more recent drivers.. or perhaps a 3rd party has come up with something... Otherwise, it may certainly be that your tablet is just incompatible with open canvas. If I were you, I would at least try sending an e-mail to your manufacturer and ask them about your options.

except for asking the manufacturers thats pretty much all that I thought of already, was hoping maybe that there'd be some other option/solution to this but I guess not, maybe when I get a job I can buy a wacom (maybe one of those nice suit case ones that actually project the screen on it) and that would solve my problem. well thanks anyways, sorry for taking up your time.

This is a very helpful tutorial indeed but, what if someone wants to join a group right on the Himachi screen and it won't let them? (Like if we have given them the right information to put in the screen but it still won't let them sign in to that group?)

Okay, well, I finally figured my problem out, but...

Whenever I try to join my friend's room, I immediatly poof out afterwards. PLEASE help.

Do your friends have hamachi? They need to download Hamachi and they/you must create a hamachi network. Then one or the other must join it so that you all are on one Hamachi network. When you start a networking session, make sure that for the IP, the client enters the host's HAMACHI IP

I have this for my PC, but unfortunately, my mac isn't accepting it as well. (what else is new?) I think because its an MS-DOS file. Do you know where to get it for the mac? Or how to bend the file to my will?

well, if you REALLY wanted to run OC, windows vista is runnable on mas. But I think what's the point of getting a mac, and the slapping windows all over it. I personally don't think macs are all that great. Programs shut down on me more with it than my PC. It's almost threatened to never turn back on for me too. So yeah, I'm not impressed with apple.

This looks really interesting and my friend and I were really looking forward to trying this out XD But we're still having a hard time getting it to work o.o
Whenever I try to get into the OC network, it comes up with an error message ( like: ????????? 10061) Do you possibly know how to fix this? Haha maybe we're doing something totally wrong?

Awesome, I'm glad you're finding it useful ^^
As for the error.. hmm.. Try checking these things:
1) Did you both download and install hamachi? And did one of you create a hamachi network (by clicking the "create or join network" button that looks like a triangle in the lower right hand corner of the applet, then click "create a new network" and pick a name and password)
2) Did the other join? (by clicking "create or join a network", then "join an existing network" and filling out the specs for the network that was created)
3) Are you sure that Hamachi was on, for both of you, when the networking window was started?
4) Did the client enter the host's Hamachi IP address (not the regular IP which may have shown up in the networking chat box) when they joined the network?
If it still doesn't work... yikes, I'm not sure 8C But let me know what happens :3

It seems to be working now. We had done all of that the first time we tried but now its working! Straaange. lol Not sure why it didnt work the first time but thank you looots for taking the time to help us out!!!!!!!!!!! *hugs*
