Description I was about to start working on a tutorial when I realized I never actually uploaded this one.

So yeah, basically it took me a while to figure out the networking thing in Open Canvas. But I wish I had figured it out sooner 'cause it friggin' rules my world now, or something. Hopefully this will enlighten some people and change your lives as much as it has changed mine 8D

Wow. I already knew how to network... but I had no clue that you needed a +static+ IP address. No wonder I have never been able to connect except for those few months I used dial-up. Thanks.

You're welcome! Sorry for the late reply. I know what you mean, though... it was pretty annoying trying to figure out what the deal was with OC Networking for a while <_< So hopefully this tutorial will eliminate some people's struggles!

Wow, this is so helpful. No more having to explain the whole process to friends! And I love Hamachi... I always used to stress over the fact that I couldn't host oC sessions, until I found that program. xD

Thanks heaps for doing this!

No problem! Sorry for the late reply >_>; I know what you mean, though. There totally aren't very many tutorials for OC Networking that I could find o_o; So you basically are left putting the pieces together for yourself and explaining to friends XD;

How do you find out what your IP adress is?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dizzyclown In reply to Ericanii [2007-11-02 23:01:58 +0000 UTC]

it will tell you in the chatbox when you start a networking session Unless you're using Hamachi, then it might not tell you the right one. But in that case, it's just the IP number that's in the Hamachi window.
