Description
My 2nd watercolor tutorial.It might looks pretty long, because it's filled with many pictures to help you understand my process, instead of using a lot of texts.
Edit: Wet in Wet is : Adding wet colors on damp sheet of paper or an area of still-wet paint, and let them run out over the wet surface, giving soft-hazy effect
If you have any watercolor question, Feel free to ask me.

Most artists watercolor are good for coloring.
For student grade watercolor, I like using Vangogh watercolor and Cotman watercolor.

Please answer me.
I want to use Rembrandt Watercolors since i heard they are way better and that Van Gogh has little Pigment in the yellow colour. What do you think about that?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
emperpep In reply to Escuisi [2012-08-12 00:38:22 +0000 UTC]
Rembrandt is artist watercolor from Talens while Vangogh is student watercolor, So it would definitely be better, But also quite expensive.
I use both Vangogh and Rambrandt, but I think Vangogh pigment quality is good enough compared to other artist watercolors.

I'm confused... but if you use pure water for a highlight, and paint around it, won't the color spread into the highlight area? @_@;;;

the most expensive is artists'watercolor [But you can use student watercolor instead]
the second pricey one is watercolor paper, costs about $10 per block [10 sheets]
I recommend you to use best paper you can afford.
And all other tools are cheap.

Is it also possible to work with the "dry" watercolours (don't know how to say it in another way, but here's a link to a picture: [link] ) in this way ? I mean like the watercolours that don't come in tubes...

For watercolor painting, maybe You should paint with lighter colors first.
