Description My 2nd watercolor tutorial.

It might looks pretty long, because it's filled with many pictures to help you understand my process, instead of using a lot of texts.

Edit: Wet in Wet is : Adding wet colors on damp sheet of paper or an area of still-wet paint, and let them run out over the wet surface, giving soft-hazy effect

If you have any watercolor question, Feel free to ask me.

emperpep In reply to Mnga12 [2013-02-19 14:43:39 +0000 UTC]

umm... this may sound dumb but im new to watercolor (never been brave enough to try) but what do you mean when you say "wet in wet technique"?

lnconsequential In reply to toothless411 [2013-02-16 01:59:18 +0000 UTC]

I think she means painting the colour into it while its still wet.

You don't really have to answer this, but does your paper look textured or smooth?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

emperpep In reply to merpychan [2012-12-22 02:45:02 +0000 UTC]

It's semi rough surface.

It doesn't look like you fastened your paper down... How do you keep it from curling?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

emperpep In reply to Lost-Guitarist [2012-12-13 06:53:52 +0000 UTC]

I think 300g watercolor paper can handle that.

Nutrea In reply to Lost-Guitarist [2012-12-13 02:00:10 +0000 UTC]

Good paper tends to not curl as much.

Kawaii2104 In reply to ??? [2012-12-08 00:01:13 +0000 UTC]

Can you tell me how to do the wet in wet technique?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

emperpep In reply to Kawaii2104 [2012-12-08 02:29:54 +0000 UTC]

Add wet paints or pure water on paper first, and then add more wet colors on the soaked area.

make sure to do it fast before all the wet surface dried out

Strange....i use Montaul or whatev, but my watercolor teacher says its a wood base paper and not 100% cotton...How do you get it to look so smooth?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

emperpep In reply to o0Joke0o [2012-09-18 05:29:34 +0000 UTC]

To make watercolor painting looks smooth, You don't have to use 100% cotton watercolor paper.

What do you do to stop the paper from rising when you paint it with the watercolor?
How do you paint he tiniest details?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Escuisi In reply to Dokuji-Chan [2012-09-12 10:24:51 +0000 UTC]

I don't know how to answer your first question, yet there's very small brushes(i have one of them) that can do those details.
