I tried using this and I lose you at Step 5. My sun never turns out like that. [link] This is what I ended up getting, it's not bright enough at all and I can't make it brighter. I tried adding the white circle to brighten it but it didn't help. Suggestions?
π: 0 β©: 1
FacundoDiaz In reply to GhosTagE [2009-05-01 16:20:18 +0000 UTC]
The sun surface is turning out really well!, if you need to brighten up your sun, duplicate one of your first circle layers and instead of using the overlay mode in the oter glow use "screen", "softlight", or "normal" mode, with a white color. Try modifying the amount of glow, and opacity until you are satisfied, then tell me if you got any good results
π: 0 β©: 1
GhosTagE In reply to FacundoDiaz [2009-05-02 08:31:20 +0000 UTC]
Ok I did that and I got this ring around it. Still didn't look quite right, since in yours there's seemless transition between the edge of the circle and the flares it emits, so I started going over it with a plain white paintbrush with a lowered opacity.
[link] is what I got.
It looks really strange now and I can't put my finger on it lol

FacundoDiaz In reply to GhosTagE [2009-05-02 17:35:09 +0000 UTC]
you are almost there, reduce the inner and outter glow 50% at least, lets see how it turns out

GhosTagE In reply to FacundoDiaz [2009-05-02 18:12:37 +0000 UTC]
k I lowered inner & outer glow opacity to 50, [link] is what I got o_O

Could you keep this conversation here so that one may see the suggestions from keepwalking07 and the results by GhosTagE step by step? You can actually learn quite a bit just from watching the trial and error in this conversation.

Oh, yeah we did. All we did really was exchange files to see what I did wrong. It turns out I didn't reduce the fill and I should have made a white stroke to make it brighter, that's all.
