**********************************************************

Willing the wand to silence, Avora repeats her minimal incantation to read the waves of life and magic. She is surprised and somewhat dismayed to note the same massive, formless cloud of energy she observed before the corpses shambled to the attack. Beyond the cloud, there is still no sign of her would-be opponent in the mist-shrouded depths of the garden.

“Your doormen are no more,” she declares confidently. “Soon you will need to face me personally, Sorcerer. Would you have me tear apart your work here, leaf-by-leaf and root-by-root until there is nothing left of this, your twisted design?” She turns lightly in place, her senses scanning the mists, stalks, and leaves about her. Beneath it all, she observes a shift in the play of energy, like the changing heartbeat of a child that sleeps through a nightmare. Again, she finds herself amazed at the depth of the overlapping layers of sorcery lying all about her, fitted and interlocked like a jigsaw puzzle standing on edge. Having blasted her way through the waves of half-living attackers, Avora realizes she has only stripped away one row of jigsaw pieces, exposing a dangerous array of sorcerous divots and spurs to trip and snare the careless.

Pausing in the light of the setting sun, the wizardess realizes with some disappointment that her would-be opponent may not be present or even alive after all. “Perhaps not,” she mutters aloud. “Perhaps this is nothing but some unfinished construct caught in its own repetitious cycle.” Turning back toward the arched gate to the ruined Chorus Grove, Avora shakes her head and makes for the stone path.

Two in one day! As ever, Avora was drawn using the wonderful reference material provided for me by Viator-Defessus and the model "Ava." Thanks, guys!

Enjoy!

Note: Twisted Plot and Demon's Due are a work of fantasy and fiction. The artist/creator in no way condones this kind of treatment toward any woman or man, by living person, gremlin, plant, assassin, ratman, viscous fluid, programmed device, animated home furnishings, or otherworldly spiritual beings. Furthermore, the artist opposes the marginalizing and restriction of women in general by any institution, political and/or religious, including those which have individual women amongst their membership touting/promoting their own happiness within that institution as evidence that ALL women should feel the same way. This includes the religion I was raised in and which I have utterly discarded from my life over this and other issues.

From a certain perspective, I think that she is right about the unfinished construct on a repetitious cycle. She's just applying it in the wrong place and about to join the cycle herself

Yeah, it's a functioning system that willingly accepts newcomers and produces from them some exported items, rather like an ecological factory...

Like watching an old movie where you know what's about to happen, you want somehow warn the person how to avoid the danger.  'Bogie, give up smoking lest you die of lung cancer!' It never works though

No, but it's a worthy thought! "Avora, quick, snag that spray can of Round-Up!"

Where is a Sherman tank when you need one? And now I'm picturing Avora on the other side of that wall there with a squadron of heavy artillery. That'd show this twisted sorcerer dude, that would!

You've really set this up well, showing Avora's power like this. Sure, anyone could wander into this garden and get caught, but you really get to see the menace of the "bad guys" (yes, those are air quotes) when they can take out someone as fierce as my girl Avora.

Well now, Sherman tanks were really just disposable, thinly armored tractors with a big gun mounted on them. Avora herself would send a Sherman tank to the mechanic with a minor spell or a miniblast from the wand. But maybe something like this...

Regardless, thanks a bunch!

Forget the tank ... she needs one of those good old-fashioned crop dusters, that'd do the trick.

Where's Russel Case when you need him? Dusting the wrong field, maybe...? i.ytimg.com/vi/NyOTaHRBTXc/max…

But a tank would be so much more satisfying, and just as effective!

I think she may have overdone the lipstick.  (That can't all be her natural lips, surely?)

Hmmm. Maybe it needs a bit more highlight on the lower lip. Thanks!

Incidentally, I'm glad to see that she's left-handed, like all the best people.

Well, I've heard that only left-handed people are really in their (dare I say it?) "right" minds...

Well, she's not sure if she's finished here, and she's disappointed that she didn't meet the figure behind the mischief. So, a little uncertainty? Or are you saying the drawing makes her look too tense?

Avora: "Well... that takes care of that.  All is well and nothing bad will ever happen again.  Oh, look, pretty flowers.  I think I'll kneel down, lean close, and take a delicate sniff of their no doubt fragrant bouquet."

Very nice, post-sorcery image - though I'm surprised(?disappointed) Avora hasn't worked up much of a sweat.

Hmmm. Yeah, I'm not very confident with the marking of the female skin with renderings of water droplets and freckles. I always apply too much and they end up looking like low grade sandpaper... What I could do is some rivulet strands of loose hair plastered to the skin of her face and neck as vvvan suggests in his response. Thanks a bunch!

I mentioned the Wet Damsel issue back when High Lady Drea rose from the bath and her smooth, toned, Nordic shield-maiden body wasn't dripping with moisture.  Apparently the "wet" setting on Jeff's pen is broken.    I guess we'll all just have to imagine Avora dripping with sweat, her glistening breasts heaving, strands of damp hair plastered to her panting face, etc.

faile35 In reply to vvvan [2017-05-06 01:49:37 +0000 UTC]

You know I have a difficult time with droplets and freckles... The damp hair strands I should be able to work into this though, and I'll see about adding them in on the upcoming "sweaty" struggles on the ground, too.
