Description
Congrats to anyone who identified the silent female echidna as Gae-Na . She's a rather obscure character who only appeared in Sonic #115-118 and her whereabouts since then are unknown. I didn't include her as a token cameo either. With Kragok and Dimitri gone, I felt Gae-Na's presence would help Lien-Da's character by giving her someone relatable to whom she can confide in instead of Faceless Legionnaire #24601. Expect to see more of her later in the comic.
Also, it seems Lara-Le has a secret prisoner of her own....

Boy if I had a character to add to the roster... he'd be very savage. Like, massacre a whole unit of Dark Legion goons and then torture information out of survivors with something crude, like a rusty pair of pliers.

I started with #116 so I had no idea Gae-Na was such a minor character. i assumed she showed up somewhere before or after that and I had just missed her XD

Well, the prisoner can't be Hunter, because he was already released by Eggman a while back and Knuckles defeated (killed?) him. I doubt it's Tikal or Chaos. It's not Dimitri; he's back at Knothole. Is it an old character or someone completely new?
Also, I'm curious. Do you plan to write this comic in accordance with the original ideas of what they were planning to do? Or are you just going to make it up as you go along? If you want, I can supply you with details of what they were originally going to do in the comic if it weren't for the reboot.

There aren't many details to go on for the story. Ian Flynn only released one miniscule chapter of Lost Hedgehog Tales and the rest is not forthcoming. What else is there?

1) Hershey is meant to still be alive. She was originally going to appear in the "Loyalties" story arc, where she was shown to have gone undercover without being able to let Geoffrey know. On learning what he did, she would have returned to New Mobotropolis. They also originally planned for her to be a member of the secret freedom fighters, before being nixed for Leeta and Lyco Wolf.
2) Two earlier versions of the "Endangered Species" arc had happier endings. Saffron would have played an important part in the story. Also, while Thrash did appear in the earlier draft of the story arc, Shard and Krudzu did not.
3) Bunnie would have been legionized in order to help her friends again. (Though its not mentioned in any source, I also like to believe Flynn would have also given Antoine new robotic limbs as well to help with the injuries he got.
4)Finitevus would play an important part in the lead up to #275.
5) Originally, Sally was slated to be deroboticized by #250.
6) There were plans for there to be an issue that served as a conclusion to the Sonic Underground series.
7) Although this was Karl Bollers' idea rather than Flynn's, there were plans for Snively to build himself a mecha suit and dub himself Skarkus, joining up with Shadow and fighting against Eggman. Maybe you could do something with that.
That's pretty much all I know. If I find out anything else I'll let you know. Also, is the special issue starring Shard and Metal Sonic canonical with your project?

I'm familiar with most of those ideas, but the Skarkus one is news to me. I was wondering if Snively was ever going to escape and make a comeback from his inglorious defeat in the Dragon Kingdom. As for Shard VS. Metal Sonic, that occurs after Endangered Species, so technically it hasn't happened by the time of this comic.

Based on his comments on page 3, it can be assumed that Remington met up with Team Fighters shortly after their crash landing like in Sonic #243.

I've been thinking about this all day and I have no bloody idea who this prisoner might be, why Lara-Le would have him/her held prisoner, and how the Albionites would have the means to confine such a powerful individual.
If I may ask, who is shooting the Legionnaires in the last panel? The color and sfx matches those of D.E.L. blasters, but Team Fighters doesn't use guns and Remington's men are nowhere to be found.

It is a D.E.L. blaster being fired. Remington nicked one off a fallen Legionnaire on page 2. You can see him raise it between panels four and five.

Ok... it's a long shot... Gala-Na (if she somehow survived the Egg Grapes) or Shade (also a long shot). The Brotherhood are still MIA, so it can't be any of them.

The suspense is being drawn out very well, and you've got me wondering who this prisoner is! And with the FF involved, and the mention of family... Not to mention the beautiful artwork. Nicely done.

Minor critique, but Remington in the bottom panel appears to be two disembodied boots. The negative space between panel 3 and 4/5 is nothing but sky. Even if he were leaning in such a way that his body was either entirely obscured by panel 3 or 4/5, one of his legs would still be visible in that negative space to attach the obscured body to the non-obscured boot.

Fair enough. I figured the space between panels 3 and 4/5 is narrow and dark enough to cover it up. If I draw Remington's whole body, it would reach the first panel and might be a visual distraction more than anything else. There are times where I've had to omit certain details simply because they cluttered the page. I suppose a better solution would be for panels 4/5 to overlap panel 3.
