So here's my second tutorial with some of my texture secrets and tools. Red velvet cake is my favorite cake, so I went with that.

lol thanks, i kinda smudged the top of some but i loved that you put the sand on it so i spent like $3 on a massive amount of red sand xD

This is a great tutorial, I'd have never thought of using a needle to make texture like that. I wonder if this technique could also be used to make things appear to be fuzzy?

I bet it could. If instead of doing circular motions you did more of a zig-zag and roughed it up vertically.

Made one But mine looks more like black forest cake rather than red velvet, but thats becaus of my color choices. haha. Also i have no frosting stuff XD so i just put cherries on top.

why do you need translucent clay?? what does it do?

Translucent clay is clay that isn't entirely transparent, but light shines through it. When you add it to white clay it gives it a more natural icing-like color, and matches the gooey icing's color (which is liquid translucent clay and white clay).
