No, mainly digital airbrush on a three pixel setting. I used a photo for reference, the link in the text. It helps to have awesome photography to work with!

WOW!!! This is amazing!! I have Art Rage 2.5 and my art sucks!! I am definately thinking of getting Art Rage 3 now!! But my art will never look half as good as this!

ArtRage 3 is worth the money, I think. It's got lots of useful extra features, and the bugs that used to drive me mad are gone (though there is now the 'stops drawing' bug, which is easily fixed by changing tools). It would be nice to be able to increase the size of reference images, but since you can zoom and pan the contents of the reference window it isn't so bad. The watercolour tool is the new biggie, I've seen some very realistic paintings made with it. Not by me, though!
Oh, and stickers and brushes are fun. Now I just need to figure out how to make my own brushes.
I can't believe I forgot to mention the marker pen. I can't remember if you could control the opacity on the old one, but this one behaves exactly like a professional marker. And I recently found the blur tool. \o/

Lots of looking at the photo reference, cursing, and changing things!
It took me about a month on and off, doing a few hours a night.

It's the latest version of ArtRage, ArtRage Studio Pro. Despite the name, it's really inexpensive and intuitive to use. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a painting program
