Description
Finally finished with this thing. There's some details I don't like, but I don't want to keep spending weeks fine tuning it. It's just going to be for cosplay. Also, trying to photograph a 60" prop that has curved reflective surfaces is not easy. :/Related content

I really like the carbon fiber idea. Super easy and super effective. I just ended up not buying a bi-pod and made one out of copper pipe and some pipe caps i had lying around (it doesn't fold down but looks decent enough) and some blocks of wood. I really like weathered and old visuals so I instead dry brushed the silver to make it look worn and scratched like it went thru 200 years of constant neglect and misuse and then clearcoated the whole thing to push the silver down. Kinda gives the illusion that the scratches are deep. Thanks for the better ideas, your build definitely helped mine and Im guessing many others who have similar ideas.

Wow, great interpretation of Christine's sniper rifle!! I had a similar idea but this turned out way better than the one I'm working on for halloween this year. I'm building a Vet NCR Ranger giddup with a sniper rifle and I stumbled upon this site and found your work here. Very amazing work. I actually just now joined to comment on this. It's hard to find low budget Fallout props yet look so professionally done.

Thanks! I always feel that having the best reference material helps, and I had a lot of great images and artwork of the original. I think overall, the parts I used for this build were:
1 Nerf Longshot scope
1 Nerf Longstrike
PVC, various diameter
wood dowel 1/2 inch?
1 flourescent tube cover
drawer liner
spraypaint
$15 bipod
That's about it, I think the hardest thing was doing the research and digging around for what parts would work the best for the least amount of money. Things like the bipod you can make out of wood dowels, pvc, and mdf, but I found a cheap enough bipod to make it worth not spending the time having to make one from scratch.
Let me know if you have any questions on my build and hopefully I can help you make your sniper rifle better!

Drawer liner and a silver rattle can. Google faux carbon fiber.

For now, yeah, but I need to reinforce the barrel, it weighs more than the gun. The only real way to do that is to run a wood dowel between the gun and barrel to attach the two.

Oh, are you going to prevent it from shooting? how unfortunate...

I don't have anything to shoot, and plenty of other Nerf guns. It's for taking to conventions and most anime cons won't let you bring working nerf guns or airsoft guns, they have to be disabled.
