Agh! My fingers! MAJOR carpel tunnel. I shouldn't have been sitting on my ass so long. Anways, here it is, the reference sheet for Spyro and Cynder, Redeemer style. LEts see, I need to thank for her awesome Cynder lineart, as it helped a great deal. Surprisingly, creating new characters off of old characters is a lot more difficult than it sounds. Anyways, I didn't use the lineart COMPLETELY, as in the original, she looked way to old, so I basically used it as a guideline, mainly on her paw. What else? OH! Cloth instead of bracelets, my idea. What else? I took some design ques off of Malefor, as I figured that Spyro would start looking like him eventually. What else? Image is to scale, yada yada. I'm really proud of Spyro's eyes, those came out better than I expected.
Edit: I have had some issues with people telling me that Cynder is in fact a Black dragon instead of a purple one. While in the storyline, she is indeed a black dragon, her powers are equivalent to that of Spyro. Not only that, but in the game, Dawn of the Dragon, her skin color was in fact a very dark purple. Those two in combination makes her, in MY opinion to be a purple dragon, and not simply some common shadow dragon. Say your opinions, that's what they are, but don't tell me I'm wrong and that I should change it, because I won't.

Good job on the references. You blended the original storyline that everyone knows about with the new one you created so well. I like the maturity you made on the two because you added some mature elements without going overboard. I like the switch that Cynder made to go with scarfs but I'm not sure green is a good color. Everything is perfect, especially Spyro's eyes. The only thing that is bugging me is Cynder's eyes. I don't know if they're too high or too forward on the head, it's just bugging me.

Nice! But isn't Cynder suppose to be a BLACK dragon? I know she looks purple in EL, but she really is a black dragon. EL just got her color wrong. :3

She is black.
A dark purplish grey is used, because using a solid black wouldn't work with shading.

Still, they should've made her look black instead of making her look purple. It confuses other fans that she's another purple dragon, and she's not.

Spyro and the other (purple) eggs were in the Temple. Ignitus managed to save Spyro's egg. The rest of the purple dragon eggs were smashed. but Malefor knew a needed a (strong) servant. all the eggs in da temple were smashed except for Cynder and Spyro's egg.
Cynder=Egg was taken captive by apes. when hatched, was raised and made corrupted.
Spyro= Egg was taken by Ignitus whom put the egg on a nearby river. Which led to the dragonfly village

The other dragon eggs weren't purple. Did you even remember the story that "one purple dragon is born every 12 generations"?? Obviously not. Go replay ANB to get your facts straighten out.

The only thing that I could fins that was off was the location of the wing-blades. They're on the outside leading edge, not the inside.
Other than that, you did a better job than I could do.

One: DON'T GET JAMMED!
Two: Stationary targets don't react well too fourteen hundreds.

Well, your right, they did get her color wrong, but see, I got that to work to my advantage. Not only that, but she's just as powerful as a purple dragon, so she might as well be called one.

Still, her title in your pic will confuse and convince other fans that she's another purple dragon, and in truth, she is not. And we know that only "one" purple dragon is born every 12 genetations.

there are arguments to go against that, but I did make sure to put in her description that theoretically, she's only a shadow dragon. Even still, she can use convexity! Only a purple dragon can do that...

That's because she was corrupted by Malefor, who bestowed some of his dark powers to her to help him. Even if she does have powers similar to Spyro, she still considered a black dragon. Even her egg was black when the Apes took it.

Dunno, difference from her being controlled by the dark master, and her being on alpha squadron. I suppose you could see her bracelets as being ties to her violent and bloody past, and I always considered them a bit gothic. That past no longer means anything to her now, so she sheds them, and takes on something new, to represent her new life. Maybe. Either that, or it just brings out the color in her eyes.
