I'M SORRY THAT THIS IS SO HUGE!!!My very first line art tutorial!!!
It's pretty basic... but I thought I should start out with a basic one and then I'll put up more advanced tutorials up. I'm still learning how to use Photoshop CS3 myself! o.O;;;
Anyway, yay! You can use this! I hope it helps...
YOU NEED A PEN TOOL.I'll make a colouring tutorial later. >.<; Heh heh.

I thought I had lost where this tutorial was a couple of months ago (I forgot to fave it) and it took me forever to find it. I just wanted to thank you so much for doing this. I recently got photoshop and this tutorial is such a life saver.

thanks for the tutorial, once i managed to get rid of the inky shapes what were appearing it became quite useful

This is a great tutorial.
But I have a problem... whenever i make a line, the stroke path option is not avialable, and whenever I try to make another line, the entire thing fills with black. O_o

I'm having trouble.... When I held down Ctrl and dragged the square in the center to create the curved line, it created a seperate curved line that was going in a completely different dirrection than I wanted it to. AUGH! What do I do?!?! @_@

I had that problem too. When you click the pen tool, look at the top left of the page and you'll see a button labeled Paths (it's the button that looks like the pen tool, only it has a little box around it.) Click that and you should be all set.

Hmm. On step 8, it won't let me select the "Stroke path..." option. Also, what I've penned in so far is filled in. Do you know how to fix that?...

Oh wow, this helped me so much.
I've always played around with the pen tool, but you gave me an actual understand of it. ><
I needed somebody to yell at me, "DON'T CLICK ANYTHING ELSE NOW!!!"

I still find the pen tool complicating, so I just do my line art in paint.net, its a lot easier.

For some reason I can't get the middle point from step 6 to show up, instead another anchor point appears. DO you know why that's happening?

I understand this tutorial, but when I use the pen tool it comes up as "shape 1" on the layers and if I move/curve it like you do here, it becomes a filled-in selection. What do I do?
