Description Edit: Part II (digital inking) now available!: [link]
Also, eyes tutorial: [link]

Starring Cloud from Advent Children! (see... told you I was in a bizarre ffvii mood)

Yes, I know that sometimes sketches are Never So Clean as they are in this case... I'll talk about digital inking sometime in the near future in another tutorial. But this is for those who sketch cleanly or who go back and clean up their pencil sketch by erasing and redrawing the lines.

Feedback appreciated! (was it clear? more/less detail? What other stuff would you like to see?)

same method i use ... minus the multiply ( i use the color select tool and cut) and sometimes i also use color overlay ^^

but i still saved this as a refrence .. and great "how-to"

I love you.
Honestly, I'm the lazy person who hates re-doing lines digitally, so you just made my day : DD
I also was wondering how the hell people make their lines glowy like that.
If I ever met you in real life, there'd be many hugs.

DeskGlue In reply to ??? [2006-03-02 02:09:31 +0000 UTC]

I have a question. When you shade do you make a different layer and just put on some darker colors, use the burn tool, or select certain areas with the polygonal lasso tool and adjust brightness? Also if your doing the first method, then are you making the colors a more shadowy gray and making it less opaque, or using a plain opaque darker color?

joulee In reply to DeskGlue [2006-03-02 02:53:12 +0000 UTC]

Hiyas,

I generally lock the layer i'm working on and shade off of that layer, using different colors. Generally, I will shade with a darker color on a light opacity. You can check out my coloring tutorials in my gallery for a more detailed explanation. ^^
