Description
Edit: Part II (digital inking) now available!: [link]Also, eyes tutorial: [link]
Starring Cloud from Advent Children!
Yes, I know that sometimes sketches are Never So Clean as they are in this case... I'll talk about digital inking sometime in the near future in another tutorial. But this is for those who sketch cleanly or who go back and clean up their pencil sketch by erasing and redrawing the lines.
Feedback appreciated! (was it clear? more/less detail? What other stuff would you like to see?)

Cool! Thanks for sharing!
I don't have Photoshop. Do you know what's Painter's equivalent of the "multiply" function?

Do you think this would work with Gimp too?Very helpful,by the way.

I have never used Gimp so I wouldn't know, but from my experience most digital editing programs that have layers have "multiply," and "gaussian blur" and lets you adjust, so see if all that's there.

I could have used something like this a little while ago...
Now I know where to go the next time I need to fix sketch lines.
Thank You So Much.
I really don't see any way to improve this at the moment... If I think of something I'll let you know.

Great tutorial... but one thing... the creases in his pants... how exactly did you do that? I'm really into learning how to use photoshop because I'm soon going to get it on my computer, practicing with it at school for now, but yeah, it would be helpful if you could by any chance tell me how you shaded up those creases... and again, very nice!

joulee In reply to ChaoticChild555 [2006-03-03 20:31:20 +0000 UTC]
The creases are just painted with a brush, and smudged out with the smudge tool. You may want to check out my clothing tutorial for ideas on coloring outfits and creases! ^^
