Remake of my earlier Masking Guide. Original:

Personally I think I managed to make some vast improvments. Mainly things are explained more in more simple terms and more slowly. Audio's a tad off, but syncing audio with vid is just something my computer hates doing. Oh 3 things i forgot to mention about the Masks pallete! On the bottom of the pallete there are four icons, i explain one and forgot the other three. The one next to the load selection button is hte apply mask button, this button applies the mask to your layer, getting rid of the mask in teh process... that's a bad thing since you can't edit the mask anymore, next to that button is the the eye button, that disables/enables the selected mask, in the right corner of the pallete is the trash can. that deletes your mask, no harm done to your layer.

The Masks Panel only appears in PS CS4 and later versions of Photoshop.
