The infamous Carol rides again!
I'm a bit at a loss for what to say about her I haven't said before, she is a good friend, and apart from Karen the Brat my most painted model.
I've spent a long time working on this, it was a total pain.
I've changed it more during the working process then I usually do as well....Happy with it now though

Superb workman ship on this piece. The beauty of the model is so visible and real, this almost looks like a photo. Stunning details, from her downward pose, hair and the red covering.

I'll tell you a secret, the whole masterly paitning thing is just practice, I couldn't paint at all this time 4 years ago...so if I can do it chances are anyone can...you jsut gotta want it enough to ignore the rest of your life

yes I think so....the practice....do you have a tip how/where to start the best way?.....I'm definately willing and able to ignore the rest of my life for painting, that's what I'm doing most of the time

thanks, was harder then I thought putting most of the figure in darkness, need a much more subtle touch I've discovered

I've been using pretty exclusivly oils for a few years now, they are actaully pretty easy once you get the hang of it them, heaps better for blending and such.

interesting piece this time - "chose the light or the dark side" kinda of.
not sure if the left side got to shadow'rish/dark
i guess you mastered the technique for painting the cloth uber-realistic

In the original the left side is just right to my eye, I think the photo is a little darker, and then of course it depends on your monitor.....It wa a risk it might get too dark, think I got away with it though.....

I'm really enjoying this red fabric you've used in a few of your pieces - the richness compliments the skin tones so well. I also love the little curve over her hip where the light hits, it makes her so real.
