Oils on canvas, 150cm X 55cmAll I can say about this painting is thank god its finished. I started it over a month ago, and have been so friggen busy I've not been able to get back to it, which has been driving me mad, but at last tis done!
I really though this was a great image when I started work on it, I htink I will have to get away from it for a few days to come to terms with the whole thing, very burnt out about it currently.
A friend of mine saw it nearly complete and was convinced the red cloth was a santa sack, into which Carol is placing herself as a gift to her significant other, and I thought that was pretty funny

i took my first painting class in university a month ago, for my final painting, i chose to paint a nude woman, and there was alot of cloth...
everything went fine, but i couldnt get the flesh tones to be as realistic as urs, hopefully, i will someday...
i admire ur work, and i must admit its a joy to look at

well thank you for saying so, flesh tones are quite a personal thing I think..that is, whats a realistic flesh tone in painting is seen differently by a lot of artist, just have to find you own way in the end.

It sucks when you work so hard at something that it's not as enjoyable as you'd like it to be, and in the process of the working at it it's easy to get to close to it so you just get plain damned sick of looking at it. But what's cool is putting it away and looking at it later and thinking, "that's not half bad!"
I suggest you next paint something completely out of the ordinary and out of character for you. Something fun, that you've wanted to try but never have. It scares the burn out away. Heh. Take that advice for what it's worth.

Heh. That's for you to answer, and I'm gussing the answer would be "no," beautiful as it is. I figure your next work might qualify, though.
And no worry about the replying thing. I do this weird thing of reading something, forming an answer in my head, and then later thinking I'd actually answered it when I haven't. I tend to not multi-task too well and lots of things fall through the cracks -- like answering comments I have received!

Its gorgeous! But I understand totally, take a step back and do not look at it for a least a week, a least! Then you can come back and look at it with clear eyes!
Beautiful coloring and cropping, your skin tones are amazing, im so jealous, mine never turn out anywhere near as smooth and life like. But practice, practice, practice.
What are the dimensions of the piece by the way?

You paint ..so beautifully...the cloth flows just so unreal for oils, and the shadows on her skin, they're so smooth and just seem to play across her body...aagh you just..you...arg...you entrance me with your works of beauty. :shakesfist:

sexy. you've got crazy talent, duh. but, are you afraid to throw in some blues and greens? or, if your striving for some photo-realism, you need to get darker with your darks. mhmm.
