Description
Ayiko was a good friend of my ex wife Suzie, so at the time I met her obviously my attention was devoted elsewhere, as it is now. She herself is now happyly married, so all the remains is the memory of that moment of mutual attraction upon our first meeting.Technical notes. oil on canvas 153 cm X 50 cm. There is a LOT of paint and impasto in this work, giving a beautiful sense of texture, which of course is completly lost in my typically slightly out of focus digital photo.
I am seriously looking to upgrade many of my images, so if you happen to be a skilled photo taking person around brisbane, please let me know.

well yeah I agree.
I just wanted to enter a few landscape comps, so that was the basic idea, plus I thought I shouldn't knock it till I'd had a proper go

great painting.. i loved the feeling of it, and it was nice to read your description of the attraction you felt for her...
this is a very intense piece of work.. thereΒ΄s nothing like the human body (for us humans)

I agree with you there, I'm totally fasinated by the human body..hehe
I like to make all my works as personal as possible, for example I'm highly highly unlkely to do a pencil drawing of someone from lord of the rings...not that theres anythign wrong with that..
hehe
Thanks for the comment and the fav

The texture and color is absolutely amazing. I can't imagine how much better it could look in real life.

thank you
IN real life my favorite part is the way it looks so rough and random up close...thick bits and strange marks. I've allways loved thick paint and never used it before, due to not being able to afford to throw that much oil paint around. so much fun!

As usual, the way you use light and contrast is great and I love the background story! I think it's interesting that you get to paint various women who have come into your life - they all seem to mean something to you in some way.

I do go to a lot of trouble to make paintings that mean something to me, which is why I hate selling them so much...I'm glad you like it

Well thank you for that....After working on it for 2 days I didn't like it much, but once I put it on the wall beside my others and it totally dominated the room, I figured it might not be so bad after all

HAzzar!
I'm thinking that as well, though I was worried that it wouldn't come through as well online since you can't realyl get a feel for how thick the paint is, which is one of the things I like most about it.
I'm glad you enjoyed it
