I could imagine a cool remake of the Quarks as having more arms and they are hidden or blend in with their design. Sightly cylinder like.

Niklas Jansson on Android Arts had an interesting twist on the walking block design , specifically making the Quark designed like that because it was jointed to be able to fold itself into a cubical shape for storage.

Ah yes, that's a good one. My version here was almost a reaction against that since I didn't think I could do 'boxy' without directly copying Jansson's work.
