My roommate and other friends work At BackSpace internet Café. Within two weeks they had their tip jar stolen three times.

I knew I could make them a Tip Jar that wouldn’t get stolen. I had some ideas but it wasn’t until talking with Kate that the idea for an Ammo can with futuristic bullets came up. So here is the finish product. It has 15 LEDs in it. I turned the bullets on my lathe and got to machine a lot of other parts for the jar. There is a locking mechanism which anchors the jar to the counter, but is easy to remove to dump the tips out. It took me 20 hours to build, which sounds like a lot of time but when you’re doing something you love the time goes by fast and I’m now sad the project is over.
