Very interesting shape. Has lots of interest, the shape you used and your piece as a piece.

Nice.

Fascinating.
I like this version better because I think the shadow adds depth.

Have you ever tried origami?

The only reason I used mat board is because I want to make them out of metal. Origami doesn't seem strong enough.

Nice! Must have taken you forever. I really like the look of it. Maybe you should concider making one in some kind of metal? I was thinking glass would be way beoynd cool, but also way beoynd difficult so..

For the photo though.. I suggest you take a new one on a white floor/sheet/large piece of paper or something equally neutral, so that it doesn't distract from your sphere. The shadow is wicked, so if you could get similar lightning it would look so awsome.

Neat work

I’ve got plans to make a different one in metal. I’m still working out the models. The β€œreal” one will be of a more permanent material. For now I will make and show the models until I find a design that I’d want to take the time to make out of metal. It would take near 150-200 hours to complete.

I do have one in my gallery of a full sized half sphere made of metal and cloth.

Thanks again for your feedback. I think I might take a newer photo sometime this week.

I think it took me about 5-10 hours to work all the math out and then about 30 hours to cut and glue all the pieces .
