WOW! Thank you for this DD! I feel honored. Alexander is ready to cast his first magic spell (on you!).
Thank you all for your great feedback and suggestions.
This helped a lot getting Alexander this realistic!
Rendered in Maxon Cinema4D R11.5 using GI and a very complex light- and reflection-system of my own. Alexander is M4 based with mayor improvements on the textures.
I am using my own skin shader and my own shader extensions for the eyes. The mesh is hypersmoothed and optimized. The curtain is modeled using hypernurbs to.
The spell is created using light sources combined with fractal shaders... My first own magic spell!

The 3d mesh is based on a M4 (Male Version 4) mesh.
Its smoothed and deformed using Poser morphs and Cinema4D deformers.
The texture shaders are highly improoved using c4D layer shaders and procedual shaders like noise, frensel and refraction....

Alexanders expression was the most tricky part. I agree.
But it was even the most fun part doing. You should see some of the expressions, that did not make it to the final render....

hehe - facial expressions are so tricky! Especially when your trying to nail a certain emotion. Still working on that myself - and have a long way to go hehe. I have alot of respect for this particular piece because you did capture the emotion so completely. Sorry for the late reply - new job has kept me away. Off to see what you've been working on

Alexander is the human 3D render I had the most fun with doing it lately.

The most challenging part was to get his eyes and his expression right...

yes, and also muscles movement perfection is hard too...mens bodies are the hardest of the 2 sexes to draw more hard lines. eyes are my fave to do..

Alexander basiert auf de M4-Version der Poser-Modelle.
Seine Geomentrie wurde in C4D verfeinert mit Deformern und Morphs erweitert und mit gelayerten und teilweise shader-basierten Texturen ergΓ€nzt...

You seem to have conquered the challenge very well. If you hadn't revealed the origin of the work, I'd have thought it was a photo-manip, he looks so real. Kudos.
