Description
Na'vi Character Study (inspired by the movie AVATAR by James Cameron)Direct Maxon Cinema4D R11.5 render without any postwork.
M4 based Mesh with extended textures and morphs.
Improved texture, eyes, tooth, skin... using C4D's shader system.

Hi, fantastic work, identical!. I'm trying to build a na've character in daz. I've got the morphs done but I just cant bring myself to do the long process of painting custom skins. Are you willing to give out the textures you made? They would look great on my girl. Thanks

Yea! This was my first AVATAR (try).
There was so much wrong. The eyes, the ears, the nose, the body and face morph...
So I did the improved version you sure have seen. And now I am working on the female
version - wich is much more tricky...

Yeah i agree,i have the avatar-bundle too.
Some morphs are not the way you like,and its hard to create it the way you want sometimes,but it`s also a challenge to make your own perfect morph.
I installed ZBrush,i really want to studie this thing,it`s really interesting!!

Huh! Zbrush.
Do yourself a favour and by a video tutorial f.e. from lynda.com.
I got lost in zbrush without it. It is an amazing and most powerfull software
and you can do wonders with it. But you have to know how to handle it. The usage
differs from every software you know - believe me!

Yeah i saw some awesome tuts on Youtube,and it looks really coOOOL!!
I specialy want to design outfits for Poser and Daz,and caracters,that would be soooo cooOOL,if you can handle the program.
And i believe you,it`s a complicated thing,hahahahahahah BUT i think it`s worth it to studie Zbrush.

The main part was to modify the human male 3d mesh as close to the avatar (or na'vi) anatomical features as possible. The ligthing setup is complex and the render time is ... dont ask me!

Personally, while I think it's good, I also believe it could still use some work to stay a little truer to the Navi racial design. The ears should be higher, more elongated, and pointy. Also, the entire figure should be a bit more elongated and thin. Lastly, the addition of finer details like the braid and tail would make this image perfect. Don't get me wrong, it's a great image all together, but we can all make improvements and sometimes the eye of another can help pick out things that we cannot see ourselves.

the original Na'vi only have 4 fingers, not 5, avatars have 5 carrying human DNA.
It's pretty good but still look too much human. \
