Description
You may recognize these lines from here [link] . I wanted to see if I could edit the lines with Flash but that did not work well, neither did hand drawing the shading so I went back with with I used on my last ink experiment pic [link] . But I think I like these hand drawn sleek lines better than the artificially created ones I used before. It's still more work but that's because I can redo. I was going to cap my day finishing RE4 by replaying RE2 but I figured I ought to do something constructive to justify my day (though I love doing nothing I hate having done nothing during the day).Jill Valentine and Resident Evil are property of Capcom.

The lines look plenty sleek to me. Great pose and expression as well. My favorite of these "Jill" drawings you've been doing.

Survival Horror tends not to make it's subjects smile (though I'm sure poor Leon was ear to ear through some of RE2, he really had it bad for Ada).

I KNEW I recognized those lines from [link]
I'm digging most everything about this. Its a dynamic pose, its got great colours and sweet cell shading.
And I think the best part, hands down, about this piece is the web address at the bottom right. It reminds me of where I can go to find more great mindflenzing art.

She ended up with more of a surprised look (rather than the more tired one she had in the original linework) and bigger melons (which was unintentional).
Thanks. Good poses come to me sometimes when I just putz around drawing. Right now I'm using selections for the cell shading, that being said I should have used the round marque tool for that boot, oh well. If I used belzier curves for the selections they would look better but they are more work than I'd prefer still.
I know, ain't it great.

Thanks. The font is the Resident Evil movie font, it's the only RE font which is easy to find, though I also have the RE4 font.

Great pose and cool inset. Interesting technique you're using where you have a larger faded version of the character in the background. I might wish to do it myself, how is it done?

Thanks. What I do is transfer the image (lines, color, etc w/o background) to the wallpaper and resize it down to fit. I then past a second copy of it and make it partially opaque (and scale it down less obviously). Other than that I just have a simple gradient in the BG.

Thanks. I've been on a huge RE jag since I got sick last week and have played RE0, 1, 2, 3, & 4. Jill has always been my favorite character so that's why I'm drawing her so much. Anyhow, glad you like it.

I swear man, your making a habit now of throwing more and more awesome things into your gallery. This one rocks. If I was a resident evil fan I would use this, in truth I know nothing about it. Love the shading and line, very sleek.

This new technique is a revolutionary change to my inking, it's like in gradeschool when I learned to sketch lines rather than draw them right out. If I were to get Manga Studio pro I could change the line width with a tool and that would help me when the curve is good but the weight is wrong. Anyhow, I'm glad to know that my experimentation is a success. Because of this I may not do any more hand inking except for my comic (which will probably still be worked on during lunch breaks).
RE is fun. At this point I would not recommend playing 1-3 to start because they are so dated. But borrow (or buy, you can get em for less than $50) a gamecube and play the Resident Evil 1 remake. RE1 was the scariest of the first 3 and the remake is much scarier while staying true to the original. RE1 will give you a good sense for the series (though 4 was different) and unless you like knifing zombies, getting weaksauce weapons, and having to run back and fourth a lot more you will play as Jill.

Try your local gamestop (or babbages if they haven't changed their name over yet). They're getting rid of GC games but they still have them.

Some people just like to give their kids stupid names. I had a friend named Rayfield because his parents could not figure out how to spell Raphael (which is what they thought they named him). There are numerous pages worth of horrible real names verified by birth certificates or other documents out there. But orange and lemon jello are still pretty awful.

Irritating for us, but I'm sure they are happier not knowing how incredibly stupid those names are. But everybody will agree that Ignorance can Bliss when they encounter an TMI conversation like when you blunder into a conversation about feminine hygiene issues (Nuff said).

its not in the story, except in cameos that mean something, other than that, its revealed in biographies.
