Description
After watching Resident Evil: Degeneration it got me in the mood for my all time favorite game series, Resident Evil. I love the zombie genre and RE is a great example of it which I grew up on from RE 1 all the way through 4 (I'll get 5 whenever I eventually get a next gen console). Of course, I don't count the lightgun games but nobody does (though I would get Umbrella Chronicles if I ever get a Wii).Anyhow, I knocked out a quick sketch after playing some RE3 on my GC and decided to play around with digital inking. I also realized that the last time I drew any RE stuff I was not mixing my new lineart style with my old painting style (which gives me all the more reason to do this one). I tried to get the paranoid and somewhat unreal feeling of the series in the pic and do one with battle damage. As you may have guessed from my gallery I like Jill best of all the RE characters. I got into the series with RE 1 which I have still played more than any of the sequels (even RE2) and back then your choices were Jill or ass whuppin' so I naturally chose to not get murdered and eventually I just really got to like the character as any person in a stressful situation tends to. So here's to Jill, I hope they do more with her in the future (like a remake of RE 3 and 2, or RE 6 where we find out what happened to the rest of the cast).
Jill Valentine, Resident Evil, Resident Evil Logo, etc. are property of Capcom.

I'm eagerly waiting for RE 5 myself. I played all of the RE series (that counts anyways) last spring and once I get xbox 360 out of my system (I just got one this month) I'll probably play the remake of 1 and 0 again. Currently I'm geeking out on Fable II (the primary reason I got a 360).

Fable is a wonderful action adventure RPG and kinda like a British version of Legend of Zelda but where you can customize Link. It's the main reason I got an xbox (that and KotOR). I'm loving Fable 2. I really like the changes (though it would be nice if they had more voices for the peons and a few more who aren't hideous). I remember in the old version of Fable 1 where you could occasionally find a woman at the heroes' guild who had lady Grey's voice. This way you could hear what it sounded like to marry Grey early on in the game (though nobody beat her for looks).
I love the RE series. I've played it since RE 1 and for all it's faults I really enjoy it. While I think Silent Hill (which I only got into last year) does many things better, RE is my first love in terms of console series. I think the remake of RE 1 is my favorite but then it's pretty much the dream game of anybody who grew up on the original RE and played it for years.

Yeah i brought my 360 the other day just for fable 2 and resident evil 5.
I played silent hill after resident evil too. I know that silent hill does things better but i can't help but be attracted to resident evils universe including all the cheesy dialogue. The remake of res 1 is fantastic, I can't wait to see how the 37 hours of gameplay resident evil 5 will turn out. I have the short demo and am so far loving it

Well, I haven't heard many positive review for the Silent Hill series since SH3. Don't get me wrong, I love Silent Hill 2 and 3 (I never got a chance to play SH1) and they do the atmosphere much better than RE but I agree that the Resident Evil world is more compelling. I think it has to do with the way the games are connected and how they give chunks of backstory as well as advancing the metaplot (cliche though it may be). But mostly I'd say that while RE is less scary, it is more fun in terms of gameplay than Silent Hill. If I want survival horror SH is better, if I want a creepy puzzle game it's RE. So I guess the RE5 demo is out and I need to get me a copy.

I loved RE Degeneration. It's too bad they had different actors being motion captured than they had reading the lines but you can't have everything.

Your rendering of the character really sets her apart from all the anime-ish versions out there, so I add this gladly to the Anime/Manga/Games collection of my favorites. I always liked this outfit (silly as it is for combat) and I like the urgency of the pose, too.

Thanks. The cartoon styled sleek linework with painting is really jelling as my signature style. I still do have elements of manga and american comics in my work but they are just parts on the chimera whose body is currently the new western stylized lines. Despite her looking hot in that outfit I think I like her RE 1 outfit better (sentimentality) and also the police uniform. Though in the latter case it's the accompanying high heels and a miniskirt which put it over the top because I like bare legs better than bare shoulders. From the comments it seems that I got what I aimed for with the pose and background. This makes me happy.

Huh. Don't think I've ever seen that police uniform you're talking about--just the STARS fatigues and the RE3 skirt/boots/tubetop deal.

It's one of the alternate costumes from RE3. This [link] is the only pic I've found of it (along with the other unlockable outfits). The one I'm referring to is the bottom left.

Now they just need to remake 2 and 3. I'd happily pay too much money for for that. I've already bought RE 1 and 2 twice as well as paying more than retail for some of them for my Gamecube. Capcom could soak me like crazy and I'd thank them for it.

Battlestar Galactica, a most excellent series. The only thing is they have decided to start breaking up their seasons into 2 box sets so that you end up paying twice as much as you did before. It's bloody criminal but they know that the fans are obsessed enough to cough up the money.

Well Battlestar Galactica is something you NEED to see. In fact I'm surprised that you haven't at all. BTW, unlike most sci-fi series it's not based on evolutionism. The guys who invented the original series were Mormons so they based it off of that, and the people who are during the new version retained most of those elements.

I have not had cable in many years, and I am only now with digital getting all the free channels. That coupled with my low interest in programming from the big three have lead to me watching very little. Hell, I hardly watch the shows I do like. I barely spend any time watching TV, or playing video games any more. Spending most of your waking hours working tends to change your priorities.

Dude, I already spent more money than I want think about acquiring Farscape. I probably won't watch BSG unless I marry a girl who is a fan of the series (the same probably goes for Babylon 5). It's kinda like my argument against playing WoW (sans the monthly fee but with a much larger initial outlay). I have other things I'm obsessing over at the moment (with my D&D 4E campaign, my rejoining the RPGA, and the Call of Cthulu campaign I'm jumping into this week) to worry about TV. Heck, I haven't even watched the dozen or so episodes of Pushing Up Daisies which aired before I started sporadically watching it (and I really like the show) or started Sarah Conner Chronicles. I'll add it to my list but who knows when I'll get to that.

And I always figured that I would acquire another language when I got married but reality says that neither of us are probably ever going to get married. I mean, it's up to you but you have a lot more money than I do. At any rate, didn't you have Farscape when we were at ORU? I now have Farscape, all of STTOS, STTNG, STE, Space 1999 (which sucks), The original Flash Gordon series, Firefly, some of Terminator TSCC, and most of BSG. BSG is AT LEAST as good as Farscape, but comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges. Whenever I start making money again I'm going to collect Babylon 5 and at least one of the Stargate Series. I like to reward myself a little with every paycheck, otherwise it feels like I'm just subsisting rather than being rewarded for my labor.
TSCC is good, season one is great, season 2 has me gritting my teeth a little. I mean, it still has great potential and it has it's great moments but there are some character and plot developments which have been hard to swallow in season 2. Hopefully they get back on track in season 3 otherwise I might abandon that series. But if you're curious, I believe that they have the entire series backlogged on their official site. I know that all of season 2 is there and I saw an announcement saying that season 1 was also online. You can watch the entire thing for free and at your leisure.

If I were to drop money on another series it would have to be the classic Twilight Zone. To me, it's cinematic short story telling at it's best. I've seen some of the best of episodes (because somebody donated them along with Star Trek TOS to the school after you left) and I love them.

I intend to get married at some point but I'm not in the process of actively looking at this time. It's a mixed bag the fact that I'm not desperate thinking that I have to have a woman in the immediate future.
I had like 7 episodes of Farscape in college.
I may try to catch some of TSCC inbetween game prep, art projects, etc.

Women are mixed blessings, "can't live with them can't live without them." I dumped my girlfriends because it got to the point where I decided that life with them would be unbearable. Having a woman isn't a need it's a want. But all the same, I don't think it's ever going to happen in the future. The fates have conspired and that and the darkness has closed in. I'm just hoping that my libito will start waning sometime soon.
Watching TSCC, a wise choice. And when you get to season 2 let me know if/when John Conner starts pissing you off and getting on your nerves.
