Description
This almost killed me. :/ But I hope it helps you and others who want to use these programs but don't know how to install the program.Sorry that it gets repetitive at times. But that's all you need to do; download the needed components, download the program in .zip file form, unzip the .zip file/copy and paste the files and run the program.
I've added all the Set Up downloads in the description if for some reason you cannot click them. However, please remember that I am not the link fairy. If something doesn't work for your system then google another version of it e.g. x64bit/x86bit. I am also not responsible for making sure links are working.
Likewise you can also google PMDeditor or MMD and you will probably find links to the programs. Again I am not the link fairy.
ALSO FOR PMXEDITOR
When you go to click it and open it, it will take a while to load, and it will probably result in error dialogues (missing .dll's) when it is opening. Just close the windows and PMXeditor should open as normal.
Note: If one download doesn't get one of the programs to work e.g. PMDeditor, then it won't hurt to install another package e.g. .NET Framework 3.5 (Package includes 2.0) and .NET Framework 3.5 (Service Pack 1).
Your computer will tell you if somethings already installed on it, so don't worry about it overwriting something important because it won't. It'll just cancel the installation if it already has the following programs installed on it.
That's what kept happening with me with Windows7 and PMXeditor. I had everything needed for it to work, I just needed SlimXD.
Downloads
Please note that latest computers may have all the .NET Framework's already installed on the system. My Windows7 does.
Microsoft.com Programs
DirectX9
Directx9 June 2010
DirectX Web Installer (Download to fix d3dx9_32.dll error message when starting up MMD)
.NET Framework 2.0
.NET Framework 3.5
Package that includes 2.0
Service Pack 1
.NET Framework 4.0

Visual C++ 2008 (Note: If you have a printer installed you shouldn't have to download this)

I'm trying to get MY MMD working, and I'm on windows 10. I had already put some models in the model folder of the program, they are (as I found out which one is which):
king exkaiser, great fighbird(HOW DID HE GET HERE????) da garn???? , might gaine, j decker, goldran, dagwon, rajin-oh, and last but certainly not least, the king of braves gaogaigar himself!
sounds awesome right? NVM! I got it working!

Kind of, all it does is add more effect to your model
Ex. make it more detailed

Hi, I recently had a Windows 8 computer, and for a gift I received a Windows 10 computer. On the Windows 8, MME used to work fine until I got the Windows 10. Now it won't work at all, and the program crashes until I remove the MME plugins. Help?

I'm not sure if you already figured this out, but I got error-messages from PMX-editor as well! All I had to do was change the name of the plugin-folder, remove the '_' in front of plugin and it worked! I didn't get a single error-message anymore. Thought you might appreciate this

Do you know if PMX will work on Windows 10?
I had it on Windows 7 and it worked perfectly but now that I've upgraded to Windows 10 the program doesn't open and won't give any error boxes explaining why it won't open.

hiii there
i used to LOVE mmm back in like... i guess 2013, back when it was still compatible with windows XP
i got a chromebook and left my old tower computer behind, as it only runs windows XP, and chromebooks can't run .exe files, so i couldn't use mmm anymore.
2-3 years later and i decided i really missed mmm and i got my old tower up and running again. but i found out mmm only runs on vista or later versions of windows now?!
do you (or anyone else) know where i can download the older, windows XP, 32-bit compatible mmm? i have all these pmx models that i can't use without it ; ;

you know that windows 8 is the same as the Windows 10 so I think the downloads that appear "windows 8, windows 8.1" catch the windows version 10. why it took the pmd / pmx editor windows 8 on my windows 10

Palladium-Phosphate In reply to AbbyTropis [2015-10-18 23:02:22 +0000 UTC]
PMD was the first model format for MMD, and is relatively basic. PMX is the newer model format for MMD, which has a lot of new features like outlines with colours that aren't black and sliders to move bones.

It has nothing to do with language.
