Description
Wow, thank you for the DD!Hello everyone! Welcome to my "How to Draw: Butterflies and Moths Tutorial"! I've spent endless hours, days, weeks, working on this for you.
This is a more complicated flash program than my last one on Jellyfishes. There is a total of 166 pages/frames in this tutorial
There are 6 drawing and coloring demonstrations in this tutorial, there was 12 originally, but I had to make serious cutbacks to meet the file size limit for DeviantArt. So, the other 6 drawings will be added to "How to Draw: Moths and Butterflies Part 2"!
Since my primary information source was Wikipedia, if any of the information I provided is incorrect, please let me know and I'll try to fix it.
I LOVE to see art people make using what they learned from my tutorials! If you do make art, please feel more than welcome to post a link to it.
Thank you everyone!
-Mysticalpchan
[EDIT] Added on a pre-loader that seems to have helped with the problems I had at first. Changed the font size and type so that text won't go off the screen for Windows users. Made fixes to some small typos.

I love your tutorials!! They've helped me alot. Though I will say I haven't gotten much success from them, as I'm not too good at digital paining yet. But keep up the good work!

I hope to someday do these kind of tutorials in various media than just digital painting since I know most use traditional means. Just trying to figure out a way to take a picture / scan in a way that doesn't alter size or shape of the page when you flip pages.
Hopefully, after the Part 2 of this I'll look more into that for the next tutorial type. ^_^

I prefer traditional to digital painting. But it's really fun. Can't wait for part two! Hopefully I'll actually find some motivation to try it.

Wow this is amazing! I'm sure I'll use this at some point. Thanks so much for making it!
BTW, that moth that you said doesn't have hindwings? If you look at the small photo you provided you can barely see them tucked up under the forewings since his wings are clear.
Thanks again!!!

Its beautiful. Congratulations. What really made me wow was when i saw that the moths were even more colorful than the butterflies. Seems that i have a lot to learn but your tutorial was a real eyeopener.

Well, most moths are less colorful than butterflies. But I was biased and chose some of my favorite ones for this tutorial.
If you're interested, in the Part 2 of this tutorial I will be doing the most beautifully well known moth known as: "Chrysiridia Rhispheus" (google it). I just ran out of space at the end to include it. ^_^

Great tutorial
Just; an x-ray wouldn't help you to see their skeleton, since butterflies/moths are insects and have an exoskeleton made from chitin.
