"A New Beginning"

Software used: Vue Infinite 6, Poser Pro & Photoshop CS3

Wouldn't it be great if we could wake up in the morning, swing open the doors, and see a world full of nothing but peace and tranquility with no problems at all? Or to live your life in happiness without conflict, fighting, and harsh judgements against you by other people's opinions? Perhaps travel anywhere in our world and be free of persecution, retribution, and fear of personal safety simply by placing value on your own standards? We can all start a brand new day tomorrow and lead a new life of peace and prosperity with good intentions; to put behind us the yesterdays of pain, anxiety, and hardships forever more. Freedom and harmony can be achieved by one person at a time through the ideology of respect and general good will towards others even in times of difference and misunderstanding. Tomorrow is a new day; a time to wake up and start a new beginning!

This is my entry for the Art Against Hatred Contest held by BaB-Jane and friends. Sign up and spread some joy around the world for the big win! Have a very happy Easter (if you celebrate it) and be good to the Easter Bunny (if you believe in him) and don't take any rotten eggs!

Beautiful! Too big to see all at once on my tiny little laptop screen, but that just means I couldn't be distracted by one piece of the image while viewing it, and I could enjoy it as a whole. Well done!

Ohhhhh, you have no idea what I've been through this week! It's been rough I tell you! Hehehe! Yesss, that gave me a new positive buzz to focus on instead. I am working on digital painting and trying to sort that all out. Hopefully I will have something to post in the next year or so! Thanks again for the great honor!

I tried my best to match the image with the theme and got fairly close. It was one of those rare times where I finished it and felt there wasn't much more I could have added to change it much, but I suppose I could have put more time into it and pulled my hair out to make it better. LOL! Thanks so much for the comment and the visit I really appreciate it! I've been meaning to add you and kept dosing off, so I fixed that now.

Yep this one is a dream...actually it inspires me once again...Dammit all this art does that...I love the journey and the destinations it takes me...Looks like a city where I would love to visit in reality. Wouldn't mind having her as an escort too...lol.

Well, looking back at this like 45 days ago, I suppose I could have worked on it more. It was one of the only scenes that fell together really fast and I didn't mess around with it all that much in Photoshop. I did the usual playing around with things, but it just seemed to work on its own for the most part. I was going to have a beer waterfall and little dudes on rafts floating down the river with smiles, but that was getting a little crazy. hehe! Thanks for the comment and the visit.

I tried my best on get a good depth going and to create a small world. Unfortunately, I'm hitting the limitations of my computer and I need to build a new one desperately! Then I can realize the places in my mind without having to wait 4 days for it to render! LOL!! Thanks so much for the comment, , and and I added you, as well! Your work is quite amazing and it's hard to believe I missed you in the galleries!

Wow I love this one most, because the watcher have some kind of story here. We can wonder about what the character is thinking, how does her face look like, is she smiling, crying, what colour are her eyes... And what is that place - is she on a vacations? Or maybe she's the ruler (she looks like a one ).
I just wish you put it just a bit smaller because I can't see it whole and I have to download it to see it in one piece.
Btw can I use it as a wallpaper? It's such a beautiful work!

MythArcana In reply to SeaWhisper [2009-06-26 19:09:53 +0000 UTC]

I tried to convey a little story at a glance in this one I suppose you could say. I have some others yet to post that have some stories that are left up to the viewer to decide what is going on. It's fun to design those types, but very time consuming.

I thought about displaying it at 1200 pixels and make it available for download at full size, but the image doesn't look as good like that. I will consider this in the future, though. Perhaps I will make all my images displayable at 1200 for that reason. And, yes, you may use it as a desktop! I would be most happy about that! Thanks so much for the nice comment and , I really appreciate it!

She has that L'Oreal hair thing going on and I think she just got back from the salon! You can almost smell the conditioner from here! LOL! I'm trying to work on creating scenes that conform to the divine perspective more as I seem to defy it every chance I get. Thanks so much for the comment, visit, and , I really appreciate it!

Well, I tried to make it a living breathing world without too much clutter and I had to actually take some trees and things out cause they were blocking the city! It's difficult sometimes to get everything you want into frame but a little compromise is sometimes the best measure! Thanks so much for the and the , I most appreciate it!

oh, yeah.
that would be simply amazing.

I have a little technical "but" but it might be my tired eye...
where are the shadows thrown by the buildings?
and I think the right side of each one of them should be seen much darker too, including the character and the iron railing in front of her.

nice work and imagery.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MythArcana In reply to O-Uaglione [2009-06-15 07:33:22 +0000 UTC]

Well, I pretty much threw the scene together in Vue and everything is actually lit by the sun! There are shadows somewhere on the sides of the building, but with the terrain the way it is, it kind of escapes the camera. I think I had just one point light right behind the camera to light up her back just a bit, but all natural light and shadows is generated by the sun with a 70% shadow setting (meaning lighter shadows). I didn't really notice it before you mentioned it but the shadows of the building are kind of hidden! Heheh! Thanks for the comment!

haha yeah right XD Its so detailed...but yeah, you have a great gallery..I've always wanted to get into 3D work but I'm into so many other things XD I love all art mediums!! XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MythArcana In reply to GabrielleBrickey [2009-06-03 03:07:18 +0000 UTC]

3D does pique the curiosity, but you are much better doing what you are now! There are just too many reasons really. I'm just now getting into drawing and digital painting with my new Wacom in my spare time and trying to learn as fast as I can. I got a nice sketchpad, some pencils and manual errata and put them all inside a plastic clipboard that has storage inside. Now I just cart my portable art kit around with me and go wherever I want...scan it in later is it's decent and go from there. But I like that idea of not being tied down to my place...and not spending $1,500 for a laptop.

GabrielleBrickey In reply to MythArcana [2009-06-03 03:19:37 +0000 UTC]

yeah I got a free program online from Daz...but it was just too confusing for me...so Im sticking to this stuff for now XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MythArcana In reply to GabrielleBrickey [2009-06-03 03:25:19 +0000 UTC]

Well, to be fair, Daz Studio confuses me to no end, too. Poser Pro isn't the easiest thing to work, either, and there is a lot of hacking to get results the way you want. Then there's 3DSMax and trying to create your own model, UV and texture map it and rig it...that's really not for the faint of heart.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GabrielleBrickey In reply to MythArcana [2009-06-03 03:43:28 +0000 UTC]

yeah lol I think i'll stick to what Im doing XD haha although, 3D seems like it would be fun...sometimes XD

MythArcana In reply to GabrielleBrickey [2009-06-03 03:47:45 +0000 UTC]

Well, what you could do is tape a pencil drawing to a fish tank and have the sun hit it and then through the water. If you look closely, you will see a prismatic hologram of it in the tank. LOL!

GabrielleBrickey In reply to MythArcana [2009-06-03 03:56:32 +0000 UTC]
