"Brambles of Deceit"
Software used: Vue Infinite 6, Poser Pro, Hexagon 2.5 & Photoshop CS3
Treacherous are the wicked in their spurious loyalty and spite to those who nourish and appease their every whim in a ploy to bolser equilibrium unilaterally. Bottomless chasms erupt to spawn minions of the abyss in the wake of revelation to reclaim hallowed souls of the betrayers to properly fulfill their timely fate. - MythArcana
Yet another fun-filled casual romp in Fantasyland! I suppose the concept of this would be a spin-off of that old moniker "tangled webs we weave", but since I'm not really keen on spiders much, I opted for flaming minions and a forest of dead vines and trees instead. This scene is another older one which I reworked quite a bit this week and got to the point where adding more to it made it too cluttered. I know it fails the Rule of Thirds to a degree, and there are some major things I would like to change that would include completely starting over, but my time is somewhat limited for that kind of edit. Hopefully this should offset all that green I threw at everyone yesterday! LOL! I hope you enjoy this piece and stay tuned for MOAR coming soon!

Well, what can I say, this is wonderful work, striking colours and very eye-catching. I like the outfit she is wearing and the overall scene is hot and electrifying.

Well, that is certainly a wonderful comment and I appreciate it very much! This was kind of old meets new and I would have liked to spend more time on it...perhaps I will go back and revisit it some day. I'm a bit of a color tart and have been backing off the hues quite a bit with a lot of re-workings. The new one I'm working on in Photoshop now actually makes me eyes water!

Deliciously dramatic combination of vivid colors, dangerous spikes and skulls. Great armor combination and well chosen pose for the girl.

I had the most fun modeling props and setting up the scene than most. It just kind of fell together...then I abandoned it for over a year and went back in and finished it the best I could. I would really love to paint something like this, but much better; my skills need work in that area, though.

I personally like how this one came out. I'm practicing 3D myself, bad on the practice, but I got theory good (and since you seemed to have tweaked it recently, perhaps you want some critique).
The final composition is good and equilibrated, yet, despite the flaming-imps and all the individual "props" in the surroundings blends good (light wise), the girl still looks like if she was "putted" over the scene, like if she doesn't belongs to the scene. I believe the fault is of the "omni-light" (the girl receives a very heavy light from the outside of the scene like if someone took a photo with and using flash, and that light isn't affecting the rest of the platform and such - I see the platform doesn't have a strong specular surface, but still, if the woman reflects so much this light, either try to add that light to the rest of the scene (it might cast new shadows or eat them), or either delete this "flash" light). I guess if the surroundings are "on fire", the principal omni-light should be surrounding her, like tinting her with more of the oranges of the flames, the sky, etc.
I don't know if I explained well myself, just wanted to note that I don't feel her too "integrated" into the scene (perhaps her sides, but the frontal lights and the ones from the right side of the picture aren't too immersing). Perhaps this can be fixed without dealing with the scenario itself but by cheating with a new layer in Photoshop and adjusting the hues and saturation of the ambience a little.

A very complex scene.I love the idea and all that's in it:The warrior woman,the devils,the skulls,the ambiance...everything is perfectly combined in this beautiful masterpiece.The little devil that tries to touch her it's a great idea and those flames are just perfectly made.I wouldn't think of changing any detail,cause you did all very good.
I can say that I am your fan from the beginning.
I can't wait for more.As you say...I will stay tuned

For some strange reason, I will make a setting and be semi-satisfied with it...then infest it with little minions to see how it works out. I think its something from childhood that makes me do that...like too many horror movies or strange toys I played with. I also have some where there are lots of little faeries flying around or little imps...I think I need help. LOL! Thanks so much for the high compliment, you make me blush there! Well hon you're not alone I just signed off a check for 4600 for my taxes for 2008 and that's AFTER I paid in money too. The more you make the more the government takes. Oh well. Pay the taxes though. Wonderful artists like you do NOT need to be in jail. That would suck!

The vine-like thorn field in The Lion King where Simba runs into the hyenas and tries to escape them and all that.. yeah. Totally. :] I love that movie. What a poor evil girl, yes its a very impressing image when I see all that details inside it.
You can really see the "deep" of the picture and that little evil devils look nice, too.

It's guess it like...live by the sword, die by the demons or something like that! Little minions running around are always fun to make, but I don get carried away with them a bit. I have more enlightening stuff to put up that isn't as aggro as this. And where we go from here....nobody knows!
