"Redemption Draweth Nigh"

Software used: Vue Infinite 6, Poser 6, Hexagon 2.5 & Photoshop CS3

Deep below within the bowels of the industrial complex, clouded by the billowing breath of the relentless machines, lies an unspeakable evil which lurks throughout the perimeter. Armed with archaic twentieth century weapons and an unyielding desire to rid the world of this mysterious breed which threatens humanity, our heroine stalks this deadly force to rectify the destruction that mankind has unleashed onto this dimensional plane. - MythArcana

I'm breaking out some older pieces I have had sitting around for an endless amount of time that I had forgotten about completely. This allows me some time to finish up some newer scenes that I am working on at the moment. There are quite a few older pieces that I may upload here which I feel should be included within my gallery on DeviantART, but I will be tossing in new ones throughout the mix just to keep things interesting. So much for the order of things, but hopefully you will enjoy the ride regardless.

This scene is a throw back to ideas such as Matrix meets Resident Evil meets Alien I suppose, and I didn't want to include a creature point blank to enhance a sort of tension to what could be out there waiting for her in the shadows. The showcase here is obviously the environment which was built, textured, and lit by me using Hexagon and Vue. The textures I had made many years ago when I was a texture artist for a small game company and actually still hold their weight quite well over time. I hope you enjoy this one and I have MOAR to come yet, so stay tuned!

Oops! So sorry for the short reply! We just had a 5.0 earthquake in the area and I freaked and hit the submit button! My CRT monitor was shaking around on the base! I really don't do sci-fi at all, mostly fantasy sort of stuff, so this one was kind of a fluke. I modeled everything the entire setting and made the textures myself, so that is why I ended up posting this. This one was also a couple years old and I'm thinking of doing a new one soon that will have a lot more depth and a bigger outdoor scope. Thanks so much for the kind words and the visit, I'm glad to hear you liked!

^_^ its ok. earthquakes dont happen that often where i live. ive only been through one...and it wasn't that big at all. I really like it, you should def. do another one that would be exciting!!!

I've been through some massive quakes here over the years that were beyond freaky! I'll take that over tornadoes and hurricanes, though! I think I will sit down and model some props and play around with the sci-fi idea. I tend to just do one thing and need to vary what I do a bit. Seeing the new Star Trek movie was definitely giving me some inspiration!

I wonder what will come for her. It's excellent that you didn't put any creature, this way we can all imagine our own story for her.The background is really interesting,I like that green mist and what's beyond that. The woman is perfect:the expression, the pose, the costume is fit for this scene.
Great work

My guess it that she will probably become what is attacking her so she can go hound some other poor soul who led a life of deception and angst. That is interesting you say that about the story...I really love Magic the Gathering and that those little pictures on the cards line up so well with text on the cards. I'm still really trying to have a concept with my work, but I get a little carried away with things and get side tracked. The outfits I didn't make unfortunately, but I spend at least a day putting custom materials on them to get them how I like. That is one reason these scene take so long! Thanks again for your fantastic comments and interest, I really appreciate it very much! Multumesc!

Whoaa!! looks like some BA shiny suited chick is tearin up a toxic-wasted factory and stoppin to strike a pose. I like this, the atmosphere of it is amazing!! i cant even fathom making this kind of stuff.. very nicely done!

Haha! Thanks for the comment, Bobbi! One can't go around chasing alien critters dressed in overalls and a wifebeater! LOL! The beauty of this place is that it actually cleans itself; no Lysol or Simple Green needed! Who knows what lurks in here, but perhaps a revisit in the future might shed a little light on the subject!

Ok...see...the toxic goop is so noxious that when it splashes on the wall, it eats away at the old toxic goop that was there before it! It's all right there in your Goopologists Handbook - page 187, section 23d, paragraph 3. I suggest you get studying right now so that the foreman doesn't find out!

Lol...ohhh duh. Why didn't I just look in my Goopologist's Handbook right away?! Sometimes I'm just so irrational. :]

You know, for one who will probably be polishing stones and odd bits, I'm really surprised you didn't know that! It's right there in the book! *Points at book* Ahhh well, that's ok...I'll find some way for you to earn some extra credit to make up for it! LOL!! *Points at book*

Thank you very much, I appreciate the kind words! These scenes can take between 2 days and a week, depending on how much I model props and the scene size is in Vue. Some scenes I have made have taken Vue up to 6 days to render! I think on this one I spend about 3 days total, which isn't bad considering.

Many thanks to you and I'm glad you like it! I think I shelved this one long ago because the green really over-powered the scene, but I had plenty of red coming to counter balance it! LOL! Thanks again!
