"A New Beginning"
Software used: Vue Infinite 6, Poser Pro & Photoshop CS3
Wouldn't it be great if we could wake up in the morning, swing open the doors, and see a world full of nothing but peace and tranquility with no problems at all? Or to live your life in happiness without conflict, fighting, and harsh judgements against you by other people's opinions? Perhaps travel anywhere in our world and be free of persecution, retribution, and fear of personal safety simply by placing value on your own standards? We can all start a brand new day tomorrow and lead a new life of peace and prosperity with good intentions; to put behind us the yesterdays of pain, anxiety, and hardships forever more. Freedom and harmony can be achieved by one person at a time through the ideology of respect and general good will towards others even in times of difference and misunderstanding. Tomorrow is a new day; a time to wake up and start a new beginning!
This is my entry for the Art Against Hatred Contest held by BaB-Jane and friends. Sign up and spread some joy around the world for the big win! Have a very happy Easter (if you celebrate it) and be good to the Easter Bunny (if you believe in him) and don't take any rotten eggs!

Thank you
Its a pleasure
I am too working on an intricate piece, since the methods i use as you are similar but unique so I understand the time it takes, the piece i am on has gone for a month already.. this must have taken about a month too.
lol I understand the computer crashings hehehe gets anoying..
I noticed the more one perfects the shadowing and ray tracing the more the computer wishes to die
I hope to see your new works
thank you

Yes, the computer factor is always there with 3D. Lately I'm working on digital painting to try and realize things in a different way and much faster, too! It makes me laugh how some of the top 2D artists realize such amazing things in 1/4 of the time it takes to just render a big scene. Perhaps the computer fairy will drop by with some good news so I can upgrade soon! Hehehe! Thanks for you kind words, too, I appreciate them! I look forward to see what you have in the works, as well!

Thank you so much for the comment and the , I really appreciate it and I'm glad you liked this one! I'm not quite done with all my tricks just yet and have a couple semi-epic scenes that might appeal to you in the future.

You know what is funny is that one just kind of fell together and I didn't spend half the time as usual. I have some others still to post yet that really took me forever and are much more complex, but I guess it's all about the vibe in the end. You are thinking of going back to Vue for a spin and I'm thinking of digital painting! LOL! Why not I say!

It does look like something you'd see in Riven, or on of the many Myst based games. (That's a compliment on your 3D skills, btw. The games were quite boring to me (I need more than puzzles to keep me entertained) but I had to give them credit for awesome graphics, especially at the time they were made!)

Yesh, those old Myst games were pretty much a time killer and about the only thing that saved it was solving a puzzle and getting a new rendering to look at for another 3 hours. LOL! Definitely a cool concept, but lacked in the interactive part. I guess these scenes do as well...too bad I can get this stuff to move in a 3D engine somehow! Thanks so much for the nice comment and for the visit, I appreciate it!

Not a problem.
I hear the story was pretty epic if you could get through the games without your brain making your skull implode.

Myst 1 and Myst 2 I never finished! Myst 3 I think it was, I got so close to the end but failed. I may never know what actually happened!

I'm sure there are tons of spoiler sites. I had a friend (relative?) give me a bit of a rundown. Great concept, but I don't think it was good for a game. More of an awesome "what if" type of thing, honestly.
And you can really summarize all the games in a few sentences each. XD

woah pretty nice rendering ! Maybe there is some bold colourfeeling that might be changed by shaders or something like weatherinfluence, but otherwise I would not know how to do all this stuff and if those buildings are done by you too , man , looks like muuucch work.

Thanks so much for the comment and for stopping by! The buildings are small layered parts from two retail sets that I put together doing a mix and match type of thing. I wish I could say I modeled those really, but I just arrangement them how I wanted them. There is a haze in this distance and this cloaks the buildings a bit and changes the color to a degree. They looked too close without the haze and I wanted them to have some distance. It was some work putting this together, but not as much as some of my other scenes. Thanks again!

Well, thanks so much for the nice comment and for stopping by! This one actually didn't take me too long as I had a clear idea and theme in mind from the start. It's the ones where I'm just doing things from scratch with a very basic concept that take me the longest. It definitely took some work, but it didn't fight me at all and fell together according to plan. And that made me happy! Thanks so much for the on this, as well! I really appreciate it!

I love it when an image tells a story and this one certainly does. The perspective and magnificent buildings in the distance look wonderful, especially that their colors contrast so nicely with the colors in the foreground. Splendid work.

I'm hoping the story and message came through loud and clear enough! I still have that symmetry thing going on that I need to break away from, but this time I tried to convey more open space instead of tight quarters. I'm hoping to get more depth and use vast landscapes soon, but render times usually double when I do that. Thanks so much for the great comment again!

Her impossible ribcage frightens me a tad, but really awesome anyway!
Maybe it should worry me that this is how i tend to see the world (at least, i did before my depression hit, & often i still do).
Good job. i wouldn't even have known where to start....
i hope all the stuff that's making you sound so hopeless stops being such a problem...

I would love to there here, too...and actually I do when I'm dreaming! As much work as it was to create this scene, it kind of fell together on its own and didn't fight me like most of my other works. I guess that was a good sign in itself. Hehe! The funny thing about the hair is that it was 3D Poser hair (which I forget) and Vue really has problems with the transparency maps. After 12 hours of rendering this, I saw the hair and was not very satisfied with the results at all. So I took some hair layers made by Ilona at RO and pieced it together with about 6 parts and color matched them all to fit. That part actually took longer than setting up the scene, but it sure beats sitting around for another 12 hour render! Thanks so much the nice comment and for the , I really appreciate it very much!

Yeah, I agree. And a super damn fast computer in every house, too! I'm going on 18 hours now on a render in Vue - and this is only one part of five to finish the whole composition!! I hope I get it all done before I end up in a nursing home and can't remember what 3D is anymore. Thanks for stopping by and the nice comment! Wish me luck!

Thanks so much for the comment and for stopping by, I really appreciate it! I haven't played a Final Fantasy game in a very long time. Mostly because I don't have a console to play these games...but I do love Guild Wars, Diablo 2, and that kind of stuff. I guess it's in my blood to create such environments and Vue is a wonderful tool to realize them with. I keep trying to do better, but my computer isn't talking to me after I did this one. LOL! Thanks again!
