"Dawn of Mystic Dreams"
Software used: Vue Infinite 6, Poser 6, Photoshop CS3
"Somewhere deep in our minds lies the epicenter of where dreams are born and sometimes they stay with us for many years to come throughout our lives. Distant places and mystical characters with interesting ideas and thoughts which keep us thriving give us hope to reach a new day and to keep us driving forth to a new dawn." - MythArcana
In my endless pursuit to try to balance out my gallery, this one is definitely on the lighter side and is another complete reworking from my archives of yesteryear. It was from a magical time when everything just made sense, the planets were aligned, and all were harmonious in celebration of life. Now that I'm here at DA, we can all throw rocks at it and mock my hard work since Poser was involved. *cough* Regardless of your stance on that issue, this was a lot of work to put together and I realized something shortly after I did this scene; do not use lens flares on point lights in Vue! I think I had close to 20 point lights in here alone and I like to use those instead of spot lights to obtain more control over area lighting instead of using the atmosphere settings which will flood the scene with unwanted light and create nasty black shadows everywhere. I never use 100% shadows in Vue, either, and I find that a good balance between 60%-80% is best in most applications. I'm not sure what I will upload next time as it remains to be a mystery, but stay tuned as MOAR is coming soon!
EDIT: It has come to my attention that quite a few people are not receiving notices for my posts and that somehow I slipped out of their devwatch list! For those who have already been here through the notification system please ignore this edit. But if you didn't get one, please re-add me to your watch list if you wish to catch my work! I'm really not happy about bothering everyone about this, but this is the first step to try to notify my watchers that something is indeed wrong here. I suppose the next step is to mass Note everyone, but I'm really trying to avoid this. Thanks for your patience in this matter!

Well it IS called DEVIANT art, not cutefluffybunny art...so yeah But also, fan art is the most popular thing here hands down. It's somewhat depressing at times

Yup! Everything that is popular here is exactly everything I don't do. I have discovered that much to my dismay and it is disheartening to say the least. And some of the stuff that is in my category that makes it is only up there due to the Hug Club factor and not quality. Sad really, but you get this in every graphics based online community.

yup, sure do. I have come up with a solution to that, for me at least, and thats to paint WoW fan art. Since it doesnt have to be of a specific character I can be creative, and I just really love the warcraft universe. I have my own characters as well, and my friends have some...so thats my fan art solution...Naruto and Bleach can shove off, I like em but I'm not gonna make fan art of em
Sometimes I really envy the artists here that are just so amazingly talented that they never have to make fan art, they just get hundreds of watchers due to skill alone. One day I'd love to be one of em, then I could probably make a living off my art

I've been into Blizzard games since the first Warcraft came out back in 1878, but I stopped at WoW. The sub fess turned me off like a light bulb and I just didn't go there. I went the Guild Wars route and I'm happy with that, but it's far less popular here per se. Now...when Diablo 3 comes out, that might just be something to consider!

hee hee, yes indeed, Diablo 3 looks superb. Yes, having to pay every month for a game does get a little annoying, but to me WoW was worth it every second. I rationalize it like so: Add up all the cinema tickets, drinks prices and so on you spend a month, now compare it to the hours and hours of fun you get for the price you pay for wow, and tell my it's not worth it?

Well, as a macho manly man type of guy, I have to try to balance things out and do some pretty stuff once in awhile. If I didn't, my gallery would be all fire and brimstone with lots of creatures tearing things apart and loads of scantily clad women in distress crying for help. Hrmm...actually, that does sound kind of good right now. LOL! Thanks so much for the comment, visit and and I'm happy you liked this one! Next time might not be so pretty!

Well, I know from personal experience that posting men in these scenes is certain death. You might as well not even post it cause nobody will look at it. Kind of sad how that is, but the chicks are so much more fun to look at and the outfits are much more fun. I'm actually working on one now with no human characters in the scene and that is really mind boggling!

I know, right! It depends on her mood suppose, but since someone dropped a case of ale by last night, everything is all good in the hood! But yeah, the Summer is coming and those rather large insects are starting to appear already. It always makes me wonder what they are thinking when they start sucking on my flesh! Thanks for the comment and the visit!

This is truly a beautiful piece. That pose and that outfit with the lighting and sparkles give so much to this artwork
