For future reference, the smudging tool is called a 'tortillion' in english

I always have the worst time trying to keep my hand from smudging the graphite while I'm trying to work.Β Anyone have any tips for that, or is it all in just being careful to keep your hand away from the page?

There's a very simple trick to it:
Put a paper under your hand. Also: try not to move your hands too much. (because if you swish around with a paper under your hand, it will still smugde... :< )

Wow this is amazing 8D Would you mind telling me what program you uses? I have photoshop but my friend says Sai is better. Truth is, i dont know how to use either expertly So....

To edit it digitally they used Photoshop. SAI is good for lines and things but photoshop is good for everything else.
