For person, who doesn't like going deep in specialized literature, a nice picture-based tutorial is always nice to see. Very nice and simple, gave me few ideas too. Thank you .

Nice tutorial, I just checked it out and there are some nice techniques I've never considered myself. However what type of electric eraser is that? Most of the ones I see online are $100 or so.
The local art store sells a really small one for $5 but I'm not sure how well it works.

mythori In reply to Drakaji [2008-01-31 11:36:15 +0000 UTC]

don't buy one of these!
As I said in the tutorial, a nice erasor shouldn't cost more than about 30$. and that's allready a LOT.
everything else are master-pieces and you don't need that professional stuff to get started.

Amazing technique, but a little too pricey for me....All the art stores around here dont really sell graphite. At all. =\

This gives good pointers even for cheapskates like me.

This is very awesome.
Fersure.
-nods-

Unfortunately, no one in my family takes my love of drawing {not very good, yet} seriously, so I don't get enough practice in, I have very limited supplies, and yeah, I generally don't have the motivation to try harder to work on these things.

Buuuuut~
Love this tutorial.
I'mma decided to take up attempting to draw better now.
If I had some time, that would be extremely helpful, lawl.
M'kays.

The thing you didn't know how to say in english, they look like blending stumps. XD Just for future references, they're little tightly wound paper in the shape of a pencil to blend things? If so yes, they are blending stumps. Great job, I learned a lot from this!

ohh I know photoshop has so many features that save your art from scanners but I simply don't know when or where to use them, for example I wouldn't even think of why a certain layer has to be added etc etc...*is photoshopnewb* haha and I actually have to learn photoshop for school ohjeez

sorry if I talk too much :3

That's amazing! I never knew about the smudging graphite on to the paper with tissue to get an overall darker effect - that's beautiful! Definitely saves all of that precious lead from being worn out shading the whole background in...><' (one major reason why I don't do it that often). Absolutely brilliant! And the after-notes with the Photoshop touch-ups was a great addition, as well (though with your particular piece, that was a part of the process in the first place). I've never been able to fix up my drawings that well. ^^ Thank you so much for all of this wonderful new information! ^^ Quite an inspiration for all of us traditional artists out there (no offense to digital artists). ^w^

Thanks so much.
