As requested, a basics tutorial to help everyone with simple beaded shapes
I'm sorry about the file size, the only way to make it smaller would be to leave out steps.

Well, remember how at the beginning, you left a long tail of string? Work your needle back through, pulling the other string tail with it, until it comes out in the same spot. Then, make a knot. Left over right, right over left, using both tails. Now it is somewhat firmly in place. Before you cut the string, put the needle on one string, and weave it back through the beads. Now do the same with the other, but weave it the opposite direction. It's safe to cut the string at this point. Make sure to cut it close to the work, so that they don't stick out
What this does, is this: When you cut close to the knot, that puts all of the strain of wear and tear on the knot itself. Over a short period of time, it will come undone and spray beads all over the place. Some people just dab glue on it right off, but I like to be safe and make a sturdy quality product. So by weaving the string tails in after tying the knot, it takes pressure off of the knot, and, if it gets tugged a little, you have that extra length of string as back up in case the knot slips a little. But to be completely and totally safe, after you've woven in the tails, take a toothpick, get a dab of clear crafting glue, and dab the knot with it
Take your time, have fun, and remember, quality over quantity
