Description
This animation depicts the evolution of the uniforms of the NHL's Florida Panthers.1993-1998: One year after expanding to Florida, the NHL reaches even farther south, introducing the Florida Panthers, replacing Tampa Bay as the southernmost NHL team.
1998-2003: A blue alternate uniform, featuring the leaping panther breaking a hockey stick, is introduced.
2003-2007: The red and blue jerseys switch roles and chest logos.
2007-2009: The switch to the RBK Edge system brings changes, although the basics remain the same. Notable are the piping, half-stripes on the sleeves, and the absence of white from the home jersey.
2009-2011: The Panthers introduce the "JetBlue" alternate, replacing red and gold with powder blue, with a new logo that follows the "circle logo" trend. Interestingly, the jersey is very similar to the Penguins alternate that started the aforementioned trend.
2011-Present: After an extensive "We See Red" campaign, the Panthers introduce a new red home jersey, essentially a recolored version of the previous one, minus piping and trim. The piping is removed from the white jersey to match.
