Description
A new and improved fur tutorial, yay!I chose to start in black and white and add color later in the hopes that it would make it easier to see what was going on with the fur texture.
Though I used a wolf as an example, this is really just a method, and could be applied to any animal or length of fur.
I'm using Photoshop CS, though I imagine it shouldn't be too hard to adapt this to other programs...
I am also assuming that a tablet will be used, and that the opacity and size sensitivity would be ON for all of this.
I followed [link] very closely as a reference....

I was like "mm hmm okay I got this" until step 4-5 where there's a huge amount of skill I can't follow D: Do you ever stream? I think I need to watch this in action.
Also, needs more murry purry, add feathers and spirit sticks.

i dunno if it's skill so much as pretty much no life, therefore spends way too much time making lots of little lines
i stream sometimes
annnnnnnd YOU can add all the feathers and glitter XD
even better... maybe some clumps of hair stuck together with dried gore.. or if you could smell over the internet, some nice "i just rolled in week old rotted carcass" smell.. heck yes.

That's a great tutorial! I might try it out at some stage :3 What size was your canvas? Without knowing this, brush sizes wouldn't matter X3 Also, I'm guessing this would work the same way if I were to do it in colour from the start and not greyscale...?

My advice is to make it as big as you can. I start mine at like 4000 pixels by, whatever. They are massive canvases, that give you more zoom/detail room.
