Specificity:

The Rehaet Alestoven shuttles are the Covenant's standard shuttle craft for orbital and interplanetary missions in the 4th century AJR.

Although these shuttles are also used for cargo and personnel transport in the Libertarian Guardian Fleet (LGF), Reahaet Alestoven are primarily civilian vehicles.

The main task of these shuttles is to transport cargo and passengers in the orbital and interplanetary area. In addition to the three-person crew consisting of pilot, co-pilot and flight technician, up to 6 passengers can be taken on board as standard on short (speaker's note: orbital) routes.

For freight transport, a single Class I standard transport container (STC) of the CLC, as shown in the overview in the side view of the Rehaet Alestoven, can be transported.

The sublight engine is a Clerehaet Deilor Er Rehad (speaker's note: gravimetric engine for shuttles type 1), which, apart from the lack of armament, is the clearest indication that this is a civilian vehicle, since the LGF uses ion engines as sublight engines for all its vehicles. Whereas gravimetric engines are generally used in the civilian sector of the Covenant.

As is common in civilian spaceflight for small spaceships, the Rehaet Alestoven is also equipped with HPESC (speaker's note: High-Performance Energy Storage Cells), the Covenant designation is Neser, as its sole energy source, instead of the oversized fusion reactors that are common on large Covenant spaceships and characteristic of them. The range of the Neser allow a range of around 43 AU at a maximum speed of 0.25c. Then the energy cells must be recharged.

Instead of the Class I STC, a Rehaet Alestoven can also transport a mission module of the same size. This makes these shuttles multifunctional mission vehicles:

Thus, the mission module can contain an additional passenger compartment for 20 to 40 people, depending on the equipment. Thus, the Rehaet Alestoven can be used as a passenger shuttle for longer interplanetary distances.

The mission module can also contain various sensor arrays or even complete laboratory equipment that will allow the Rehaet Alestoven to be used as a research vehicle.

Alternatively, the mission modules can be brought to a planetary surface by the Rehaet Alestoven, where they can serve as a temporary research station.

Rehaet Alestoven are basically unarmed and cannot be subsequently armed. As a defence, due to the small size and manoeuvrability of these shuttles, a Type One Shuttle Defence Shield is used.

Specificity:

The Nesori shuttles are the Covenant's standard shuttle craft for short-range interstellar missions in the 4th century AJR.

As with the Rehaet Alestoven shuttles, the main task of these shuttles is to transport cargo and passengers.

In addition to the four-person crew of pilot, co-pilot, flight technician and communications/sensor officer, up to 40 passengers can be taken on board. When used as a lifeboat during evacuations, however, up to 100 people can be transported.

Unlike the Rehaet Alestoven shuttles, the Nesori shuttles have a hyperdrive with a range of 250 ly. However, these shuttles are rarely used over distances of more than 25 ly. The disadvantage is that the cargo capacity of the Nesori shuttles is somewhat limited compared to the Rehaet shuttle.

Although the cargo area of the Nesori Shuttle also comprises 12.5 m³, which corresponds to the volume of a Class I STC, but a Nesori Shuttle cannot transport an STC, but only general cargo, as the capacity is distributed over different storage areas.

In addition, the maximum cargo capacity is only available if passenger transport is dispensed with as far as possible. A maximum of 5-6 passengers can be accommodated in addition to the maximum cargo. However, the conditions on board are then usually already quite cramped.
