Description
A rather young Phantom wallowing in his own barely bridled rage. This would be during the Persia period of Kay's novel, although, as I like to imagine it, Erik wore a full mask through his youth. As he grew into adulthood, he would have shed the emotional baggage of a full mask, which would be reminiscient of his horrible childhood, and adopted the unconventional half-mask. Therefore, Ta-da! Nutshell explanation, unifying two theories of the mask. let me stress again that this is just what I like to use for reason, not that it's the end-all, be-all backstory.Related content

i love it! you're one of few artists that actually drew erik correctly... i get so tired of A.L.W. phantoms all over the place and plenty of fans that don't even know there's a book behind it all.
... thank you for drawing erik correctly

It would be worth it, though. I love his eyes. I'm an eye freak. If I meet a nice guy, and he's got great eyes, but the rest of him looks like it got run over by a truck, I'm still hooked ^_^!

Gah! It's really wonderfully done! I really like your interpretation of him. It's like the whole face... with hair! I like the longer hair thing. I just like it when guys have hair. It's like.., GAH! Sorry... I ramble.
Long story short, I adore it!

It's a nice piece with a very good atmosphere, but I can't help but notice that the mask looks copied exactly from one of Fdelo's works...

Opergeist In reply to langedefolie [2005-08-04 03:41:36 +0000 UTC]
Fdelo's mask has points and a spiral on either cheek. It is overall more burtonian, although very beautiful.

langedefolie In reply to Opergeist [2005-08-04 04:01:13 +0000 UTC]

Opergeist In reply to langedefolie [2005-08-04 05:44:07 +0000 UTC]
Egh...I just took the way I draw the half mask and drew it on the other side as well, although it's a high compliment to be compared to Fdelo, who does things with charcoal that I can only dream of.
