"What is it?" James asked. Scarlet walked to the door and stepped outside the trailer. She sniffed the air and scanned the trees.

"We are being watched," Scarlet said.

"What?" James said as he stepped out beside her.

"Something out there is watching us," Scarlet replied. Then another sniffed she added, "It's definitely not human."

"Y-You smell them?" Jena whispered.

"I'm an Aspect," Scarlet replied.

"A what?" Jena asked.

"A Totem Warrior," James explained, "a race of humans who have inherited special bonds with animal spirits. They are granted supernatural properties retaining to their bonded spirit. And Scarlet's spirit is a wolf, giving her heightened natural senses."

"I've never heard of a Totem Warrior before," Jena said.

"I'm not surprised," Scarlet replied, still scanning the trees, "we live our lives outside of civilization."

"I don't smell the scent anymore," Scarlet sniffed the air. "It's gone."

"Let's just head to the hospital," James said.
