Description: The wild ancestors of a domestic cat, is the wildcat. More closely related to your cat, and it might resembled an oversized tabby cat, but they got a lot of the subspecies; African(F.s.lybica), European(F.s.sylvestris), South African(F.s.cafra), Asian(F.s.ornata), Chinese steppe(F.s.biete), Scottish(F.s.grampia) and the domestic cats(F.s.catus). If you are big fan a Fella, and then we all know that he's a cat. But enough about D.A.'s mascot, let's talk about the subspecies. The European wild cat was more of a lookalike of an oversized, muscular tabby cat, lived in most parts of Europe, except for Scandanavia and the islands in the Mediterranean Sea. They are classed as forest wild cats. African wildcats are been known to be domesticated in the Middle East, and even in Egypt, used for pest control, to get rid of mice. In history of how we tame those cats, which we know that domestic cats are the only members of the cat family whose tamed by us humans. Started in the Ancient Egypt, many eons ago. Humans of the Ancient Egypt had tamed and adopt the African Wild Cat, and we know they won the confidence, to make cats, among man's best pal. People helped each other with the help of the cats to use them to destroy the mice that threatened their food supplies, so the cats have luxury for their masters. They worship the cat goddess Bastet(or Bast for short). The domestic cat is becoming the symbol of grace and poise. As there's too many cats, smugglers whose from outside Egypt, break the laws, by taking the cats out, put them in the ship, that contains treasures, ivory, cattle, clothing, goats, and even mice. As centuries past, the cats are moved to other places around the world, even that the cat was no longer sacred, but being just a cat whose either for royalties with the king, queen, prince, and/or princess, or they were becoming pets for the peasants and villagers, or moving into the ships as castaways and/or stowaways. Some years passed, and as cats are being common and most important of all of our domestic animals, but this happens, our human population is threatened by our enemies who are closely related to mice, rats. After the black death has ended, by having the cats killed many rats as possible, humans mistaken the cat owners, as witches and warlocks, which they outlaw the cats in some countries, remaining them as mysterious mammals. Some people respect the cats, others fear them as they believe in superstitions. The superstitions was more of a myth, says that you have bad luck, if a black cat crosses your path. Baby cats are called "kittens", formally "catlings", adult males are called "toms," and adult females are called "queens." African wildcats lived in most parts of Africa, except for the deep jungles and plant-less deserts. Some of the Asian subspecies of wildcat, lived in the deserts of the Middle East, to the steppes of central Asia, and the jungles of northern India, for example. Domestic cats, lived all over the world, except for the North and South poles(e.g. Greenland and Antarctica), some are with their masters, breeding programs for alley cats, and pet stores, and some others are feral. Wildcats had been threatened by interbreeding with domestic cats, people need to conserve without hurting them. We do know that cats are popular, thanks to Fella, along with cartoons, like Tom(from Tom and Jerry series), Felix the Cat(the retro cartoon, that's before Mickey Mouse appeared), The Aristocats(Disney film, that featured cats as characters), and others, along within the horror series like Felidae(the mystery novel that feature Francis, the cat who solves mysteries about the killer(SPOILER ALERT! Pascal is aka Claudandus, or even Felidae).), etc. Domestic cats, are used for being pets, pest control, show, pelt(even as along with meat, this was cruel!), and research.
