Description This is my most recent MOC. I tinkerd this him together in about a week, but at a little at a time. Like a day here and there. I'm not really too satisfied with the over all results. I like how the upper torso came out. Not counting the liberty spikes he stands 16 inches tall. I rounded down a bit. The spikes are about another inch so that'd be 17" if you count them. I I also like his war hammer. That's pretty cool how that came out. I had a hell of a time finding something that was dense enough to be a hammer but not like over bearing and bulky. Its still a bit to heavy for his very articulated torso. HAHA the stone titan that supposed to be holding world on his shoulders has a weak back. D; The point though with this MOC was artucilation. His torso can move almost as well as a regular human torso, as well as his shoulders. And he can open him mouth. THe arms and fingers are kinda out of proportion but that's because he's supposed to be a rock climber so they're purpose built. I suppose this would really be my only titan sized MOC since everything else is either toa or colossi sized. Cool. Building at medium seems to be harder than I thought.

Atlas is the 6th and final edition to my "good set of six" Seriously I need to fne a name for both sets that rolls off the tongue better. I find the name atlas very fitting for a stone titan. When I think of atlas I think of the Greek titan holding up the world (or the heavens as its actually told) on his shoulders as in the popular retelling of the story. What better titan to have as the titan of earth than the one holding the whole thing up? Over all he has this benevolent heartiness feeling to him. Like a jolly giant kinda thing.

important please view other pics before commenting. Serious feed back and critiquing would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Nice. Problem is, Atlas wasn't a good guy in greek mythology. But then again, there were few who were actually good throughout their whole lives. I mean, Hercules killed his family.

Well that's not quite true. Atlas sided with the titans in the great war and when they got defeated he was sentenced to do the whole "hold up the heavens and earth" blah blah blah. Yeah there's people who were bad, good were good then went bad, did something bad, but did good for it. Yeah all that. I used atlas for his affiliation with the earth not his "good or bad" disposition.

so got any comments on the MOC though? I'm curious as to what you have to say being one of the MOCers I frequently talk to.

Yeah, I figured, but still. Ya.

Well, I think he's got some nice mobility, that's for sure. The blue spikes are kinda odd. I don't know. I would have used a different color, but you don't have to. It seems that he's a little gappy in the hips and midsection. Besides that, he's got a nice color scheme (though I don't like the blue), nice build and, though I can't really see in person, good flexibility.

Yeah. Its more the popular representation of atlas that I'm using, not the actual atlas.

That he does. But mobility also makes him not as sturdy or strong. Really? Other people liked the blue spikes. The gappiness was intentional, somewhat. The thing about bionicle characters is they don't have to be solid all the way through. They're still partly robots so you have more liberty and freedom to do stuff with them, like make their midsections really skinny(ryakk) or have some "gappiness." Maple whined at me about the color scheme. I did that with Crixus and mototaur. I guess if a MOC has too much color going on he doesn't like it. So again I got mixed reviews about the color. As for the flexibility I might post a pic of some really ridiculous poses just to demonstrate his flexibility. Like he can do poses that would take an actual person doing yoga or something to be able to stretch to do.

Yeah, maybe I'm weird, but I would have personally preferred silver. Or maybe you could add more blue accents. Yeah, gappiness often looks worse in pictures, and yeah, sometimes it looks good. Haha, I do prefer fewer colors to make it not too busy, but with sets as big as they are, I understand that it can't always happen that way. Haha, yaaay for yoga. Pretty funny. Speaking of super flexibility, I was testing out just how poseable that female set (er, I just decided that she was female. Idk. She's blue. How racist of bionicle.) that I used in my stopmotion, and she can do the matrix thing without falling over. Makes me happy. I love flexibility, but it is hard to see in pictures how easy a set is to "play with" I guess. How well they move and how good they look doing it.
