I'm using CS3, however many people have approached me with a similar problem using CS4, and unfortunately, I don't have a solution for you. D: Now, if you aren't using a tablet, then that in itself is most likely the issue. However, if you are using a tablet and can't achieve pen pressure, I suggest browsing the Adobe website and other resources for a solution. (You can always try to taper your lines by hand with the eraser, if you need a quick fix. The results are lovely.) ;3

Is there something similar to the Pen Tool in Elements 7? My free-hand lineart is too shaky and looks bad :/

Popo-Licious In reply to Wafflegnome [2011-01-09 14:34:17 +0000 UTC]
Sorry, but unfortunately, products in the Elements line do not come with the Pen Tool, and I'm not really sure if they have anything similar, but my guess is no. >o<

I have Photoshop Elements 5.0 and I can't find pen tool. Is there a tool like pen or something?

Popo-Licious In reply to PicturePixie [2011-01-06 22:59:00 +0000 UTC]
The products in the Elements line do not come with the pen tool, sadly. You'll need to purchase the full version, or the CS line. :3

Uhm how do you get to the brush pressure thing? because when i check the simulate pressure box, the ends of my line gets way too thin and you can't see the color anymore. and then the middle part is too fat :/

Popo-Licious In reply to greenafire [2011-01-04 16:05:20 +0000 UTC]
Play with the minimum diameter. The lower the number, the more tapered the line. Try starting around 50% and go from there. ;3

Are you using Photoshop? It might go under a different name in different programs. ;3

As long as it's in the brush palette and in relatively the same menu, I'm sure it's the same thing, just under a different name, for whatever reason. :3

Popo-Licious In reply to greenafire [2011-01-07 01:29:16 +0000 UTC]
Sorry, but... I'm not really sure what the problem is? CS4 isn't terribly different from CS3. Open the program, open a file, click F5, click Shape Dynamics, and Minimum Diameter/Master Diameter/etc. should be right there. :3

I always see this beautiful linart created by the pen tool, but I'd never figured out what the deal with it was.
So.

What happens if I click anywhere on the line, and instead of putting another point on the line, it makes a new point altogether? (Like a third one.) Does that make sense?
Up until about a week ago my pen tool has been working fine, but I share photoshop with my mom and sometimes she gets in there and screws with the settings. :/
