Description
I've always thought that it would be cool if TIE fighters could dock with the VT-49 Decimator. Here is what that might look like. For my Mandalorian Knights story, here is a little rough backstory: One of the early strategies of the Mandalorian Knights was to use captured ships to infiltrate enemy space, and capture progressively bigger ships. After a battle, the First Order sends out small ships like the Decimator to retrieve damaged ships and pilots. Posing as TIE Fighter pilots (and flying captured TIE Fighters) two Mandalorian Knights claim that their TIE fighters were damaged in a recent battle with Mandalorian forces, and request to be picked up by a Decimator recovery ship crewed by Sentinal-type battle droids. Once picked up, the Knights board the Decimator, and using lightsabers fight their way through the droids until they manage to take control of the ship. Once in control of the Decimator, they use it to further infiltrate enemy space.

Hello:
Interesting tactic, although quite risky... but I bet they are ready for the task. I wonder how far they can go without been detected.

If they are only 2, not that far, possibly a Corvette but nothing larger.
HOWEVER, if they get help and fill up the Decimator with comrades they might be able to take over even frigates.
They ARE Mandalorians, after all.
And with several such successes and them accumulating a force of several frigates and corvettes they might be able to take on cruisers.

Thata sounds like how their strategy should be, at long-term

Well, provided they have to numbers for it.
It takes a whole lot of crewmen to properly make use of something as big as a cruiser.
But under the command of someone that knows how to use a fleet those ships can do a huge amount of damage to any enemy.
Though if they don´t have enough a frigate can already be highly effective as well. Two working in tandem even more so.

Maybe, all of this, would give Ravendeviant some interesting ideas

I´m merely talking numbers of available fighters to logistical and tactical efficiency.
The logic and necessities of warfare.
Should this inspire some great art work, well, that´s great.

You made it sound very nice there .
Yeah, since only the expert people think in the logistics .
We might get to know if Ravendeviant sees this.

I absolutely love all of your thoughts and analysis here! I may not render all of these successive battles, but what you have described is very much along the lines of what I had in mind. Let us stipulate that this is pretty much the chain of events that the Mandalorian Knights used in their efforts to harass First Order supply lines as referred to in Episode 2 of my Knights of Mandalore Fan Fiction story: Hologram Chamber
I was pretty pleased to see that nothing in "The Rise of Skywalker" really undermines the sequence of events depicted in either Episode 1 or 2 of my "Knights of Mandalore" series. Now I'm sort of pondering what the galaxy is like after the events of TROS. It seems to me that the galaxy is "now" much as it was after the fall of the Empire, during the time depicted in "The Mandalorian."
That is, after the fall of the New Republic and the fall of the First Order, the galaxy must be in a similar state as it was after the fall of the Empire. (Lawless, chaotic, etc.) I can see remnants of the First Order, Warlords, Crime Lords, and Pirates all struggling for power. Meanwhile Rey must be trying to organize a new Jedi Order, much as Luke did in either Legends or Canon. But after the repeated failings of the Republic AND the New Republic, I can imagine that planets might be reluctant to sign up for another round of the same bureaucracy and weakness. I wonder if they might not turn to Mandalore for protection, some kind of "Mandalorian Protectorate." I wonder if this might be a time for Mandalore to rise to prominence. Perhaps it would be seen as stronger than the New Republic, but more benevolent than the Empire or the First Order. There might be a new episode brewing in me around this direction. . . What do you think?

Hello:
It looks like, by how the Disney canon is going for, that the galaxy would indeed be in chaos but maybe not as horrible, if such number of races joined to help defeat Palpatine for good then there is a chance they'll want to organize for a new government. Would it be a Republic 3.0? Doubtful, but I would see two options: They would make a sort of Galactic Federation (like he GFFA of Legends) or maybe the protection of someone else, like the Mandalorians... but would they be up for the task?
It is interesting

Him seeing this does not mean he gets inspired though.
All we can do is hope for the best.

Better to show the ideas and hope for the best, than keeping the ideas hidden in our minds where they will never have a chance.
