Description One of the local schools mascot (made from plaster) had a small accident, and they asked if I could help. I hope they like the new one. ( I've never carved a dolphin before.) 12in.hx15inlx8in.w made of mahogany and walnut.

Looks awesome! Love the piece it's mounted on too, nice and natural shape to it, makes the dolphin stand out nicely.

Thanks, it was fun to do something different, but one of the other schools found out about it and would like their mascot done. (It's a shark) I guess I should get started.

Love the spalted woods. They are nature's way of adding motion to a carving. You nailed it with this, looks like water washing off the dolphin's back as it leaps.

Thanks. When I went to the school with it, I didn't have it long. The office staff took it and placed it in it's new home.

Beautiful! And I'd pick wood over plaster any old day of the week.

Thanks, I like the wood over the plaster as well. The plaster was so plain.

Agree. It feels "dead" compared to the wooden one. Never was any life in that chunk of plaster.
