I put in the A4 measurements in inches in my PS and converted it into pixels and I got 2550 x 3300 from 8.5 x 11 inches.. this isnt the same as your measurements?

But this tut is very well done and inspiring to do some artwork already.. coloring is great!

ACK! You missed the part I was having trouble with. Do you think you could go more in depth with the part where you fill in basic colors on the dragon and the girl?

So helpful, and very muchly appreciated! Digital is so strange to me, yet something I'm trying desperately to grasp a workable comprehension of.

Onto Part 2.

For blocking in the basic colors, do you have pen pressure turned on?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sandara In reply to the-Oblivion [2009-06-05 02:38:39 +0000 UTC]

yes, it's always on.

Ah, I see you're a fan of multiply
btw, what do you exactly mean by saying "blocking colors"? I've seen this term used in many tutorials.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sandara In reply to Epantiras [2009-06-05 02:39:44 +0000 UTC]

well, that is just painting in large "blocks" of colors, in a rough way. no details added.

Kiyoshi45 [2009-06-04 20:27:01 +0000 UTC]

This tutorial is great. I can never seem to get the hang of photoshop.

What does multiply do for layers? Tutorials always say to do that and I can't figure out what it does. >_<

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

sandara In reply to Kiyoshi45 [2009-06-05 02:43:24 +0000 UTC]

when you set a layer to multiply, anything u paint on that layer will be "multiplied" to whatever that was on the layers below that one.

painting on the multiply layer always makes the picture darker, never lighter. it's good for shadows and painting on top of sketches.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

MunaAlDerham In reply to Kiyoshi45 [2009-06-04 20:38:07 +0000 UTC]

alright for example you have a -1stlayer- that has the line out.. if you set the -2ndlayer- above that line out to multiply you can color on the -2nd layer- and the lines on the -1st layer- will still show

hope that helped
