Description Medium: scratchboard and X-acto knife

This is another one of my scratchboard pieces. This is a fangtooth, which is a deep-sea fish with an impressive set of jaws.

The challenge of this piece was simply the fact that this wasn't a furry creature. Scratchboard is usually more suitable for furry creatures because the process of scratching the surface with a blade naturally produces lines. For this animal, I practically had to stipple the entire thing. Still, drawing a deep-sea fish in scratchboard was too tempting to pass up!

Edit:
Oops! I just submitted this as a print by accident! Hm, how do I fix this?

Oh, that does clarify things. Your scratchboards are very impressive! You've got a good grasp of the metallic.

Thanks for the comment! Mech-Fish? That's the first time I've heard that term. But looking around, it seems to be associated with deep sea fish a lot. Well, I learn something new everyday.
Anyway, yes, it's pretty fun!

Thank you! When I first saw scratchboards of different animals, I knew that it would be great for deep-sea animals. It took me a while to work up the nerve to try it, though. Glad you liked it!

sorry for the double post, I forgot to add this to the orginal. Anywho, I don't know how to undo the "Print" option, I've done it myself a few times accidently. I don't even know how it works if someone does want to buy one...maybe you get money. o_O

Thank you for the comment! And sorry for the late reply. My computer is down, so I have to use another computer. However, that computer is less able to handle DA, so I haven't been visiting for a while. In fact, I don't know when I'll be on again.
Anyway, I'm very glad you like this piece! These scratchboards are really fun! Yes, I am doing more. I just have to see if I can make them all match.

Another AMAZING job! I had to download it just to try to get a better look at all the detail you put into it. I especially adore the facial area. The structured look around the eye is perfect and the teeth and mouth look awesome and..well, everything looks amazing! I hope you do more of these
