If you're using The GIMP, you can use the Pencil Tool with the Circle 1px brush to draw them. In Photoshop, try the Pencil Tool with Size 1px and Hardness 100%

Thanks for the tutorial! I'm thinking of starting on my first stamp, and will likely be refering to your template.

One question though: Why shouldn't we save the final stamp as .jpg? I have been using that format.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SparkLum In reply to EdgeKagami [2010-11-18 04:08:26 +0000 UTC]

Because JPG doesn't support transparent borders, and also has Artifacts, which are ok for large pictures, but aren't good for stamps, which rely on pixel-by-pixel display (aka, JPG is low quality |D )

I don't get the blending part 0.o What am I supposed to do? And how do I make the shiny glossy stuff myself?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SparkLum In reply to glomdi [2010-10-13 03:03:29 +0000 UTC]

You can use the layers provided in the stamp templates, or you could make your own glossy stuff. I can't teach that in a comment though. I might make a tutorial about making your own shine for Stamps later

im really really really really sorry about this really stupid question but i have a mac and i dont know how to copy an image to my clipboard, how do you do it? >_<;;;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SparkLum In reply to sawyersweet [2010-10-03 22:49:40 +0000 UTC]

It really depends on what you're copying the image *from*
For taking Screenshots, I'm not really sure.
For images and things in GIMP, it would be Command+C (I think >>; )

You may want to Google it

sawyersweet In reply to SparkLum [2010-10-03 23:19:23 +0000 UTC]

Zelgadis-Gabriev [2010-09-21 16:15:35 +0000 UTC]

Do you just save the template and then open it up in GIMP? Or is there a different way to do it? This is my first time.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SparkLum In reply to Zelgadis-Gabriev [2010-09-22 03:29:34 +0000 UTC]

It depends on which template you download. The one I linked is inside of a ZIP file. You'll first have to Unzip the file, and then open the Template.xcf file. I'd recommend saving a new copy of the template to a different location, it's always good to keep the Source GIMP files in case you need to edit something later.
Hope that helps
