Very good!
Just one thing - is there a quick way to make the diagonal lines?

SparkLum In reply to xoja [2010-09-04 07:40:46 +0000 UTC]
They are available in the template that I linked.
You can also copy part of them and turn them into a Pattern to be painted with the Bucket Fill tool, or if you don't want to save them, you can just cut that part, and then use the Bucket Fill tool with the Clipboard as the texture.

I meant, in general. The ones in there are handy.
Hmm... didn't know you could do that. Thanks!

I found that the quickest way to make them is to download a template with them in.

I think the quickest way would be to make a vector line in the middle of the stamp, one pixel big, and then copy and paste it throughout the stamp, evenly spaced. Then just crop.

That's how I usually do it - takes agessss

It could be worse, You could draw out each line pixel by pixel.

plastikmaniac In reply to stuck-in-suburbia [2010-09-03 03:38:19 +0000 UTC]
That's one way to draw: start at the top-left and work your way to the bottom-right pixel. lol

I've always considered making stamps, since I'm also a Graphic Designer somewhat on other websites, but I never figured out how. I'm going to try now; thanks!

I never understood why there are stripes in most of the stamps but now I understand it better. But still I don't like stripes. I made an anti-stripe stamp not a long time ago.

P.s. lovely tutorial

SparkLum In reply to M-mily [2010-08-31 06:08:47 +0000 UTC]
GIMP has a lot of Patterns in it already, just make a new Layer and use the Bucket Fill tool, select to fill with a Pattern, and then select the Pattern you would like. You can also download any pattern and use it. I sometimes make my own, depending on the situation

By the way, sometimes I tried to add shiny effect on top but it turns out weird Do I have to use the rounded corners for the shine
