Description Copper! Behind you!

Here's Milo's dad, Copper, from Tooth & Claw.
At one point in the story at short notice, Copper must help the others against a Mink and Otter invasion. It had been quite a while since Copper lifted a sword and he has never seen a battle quite like this in all of his years. So many minks, so many otters...chaos everywhere.

I haven't been able to check up with your dA as much as I'd love to, but now having just did, this looks great! I love the eyes, especially; will you be making her more Toon-like?

LOL. HER.

It's Milo's dad, Copper. He's heavy set. Was it just a slip or is there something about it that makes Copper appear female in this drawing? I can't see it. This is the style for T&C when I hand draw it. I tend to make the eyes a lot bigger and the characters rounder. I want to change the headshapes one more time in the official designs because I believe I have finally figured it out, but it will change the look a little bit.

HIM. XDD ... Damn, slip of the keyboard, I think. Maybe it's my eyes going bad from this computer--- I swear, I've been on the computer for so long now, I thnk a break from KUWT may be due soon. I've only had maybe a one day interlude in terms of breaks, lmao. xD I'm really sorry about that though, I feel so dumb now. (then again, this is actually one of three dumb things I left over the course of the week, so I'm definitely losing my mind. xD "Hey, it's Sue Larue right?" / "No, it's Mary Lou." / "...What? D8 Oh, like I pay attention to that..." *had been calling her Sue in every single image*).

It's the eyes, I think-- I recall them being dark with white glimmers on the pupils, but on the picture, I'm almost expecting them to be in reverse. They look more expressive on paper than in the animated film. Not so much how they're drawn, but they look bendable this time around.

Really though, I'm seriously sorry about that. x//D;; My mind's out of it.

On the low action stuff when I animate, I'm usually pretty content on using what I got in my builds and rarely have to draw up new stuff to get a character in a certain pose or to do a certain action. That changes though once the action level goes up. Of course when you draw you start from nothing and you have all the flexibility in the world. Now I'm not saying you don't have it in Flash, but to keep things economical, it's easier to reuse as much as possible and that I do. If I ever do animate this battle scene, it would take a very long time to do, because of all the drawing I would have to do to make it happen.

You pull it off really well in the end, though. They look really good in their completed form, down to the way they turn, movement, and mannerisms. I'm still amazed you can do that, and the way you handled the project.

I still say that if the graphic novel doesn't pan out, maybe give Episode 3 a go on it? You can always make it a web series, if not an animated television show, if that was the intent. They do that with some films, like the MK fan-film, and it wound up becoming a huge hit.

Over 3 years of professional animation experience sure helps that's for sure. I'm going to get back on working on the GN in the near future. I'm just taking a break from T&C right now and am pretty content on just drawing different scenes from the story and posting them. It's good to get those ideas out that have been swimming in my head for years.

Indeed. It helps get it out of one's system, too.

Whenever I do any kind of art, be it animation, drawing, etc, I try to put myself in the character's shoes and express what they might be feeling whenever possible. I imagined that in this situation, Copper would be on full alert fighting for his life.
